I hope you can indeed order a V6 by then. I know, I know, Fbodfather said...

BUT, looking at the page put up by RPO, it distinctly shows constraints being put up against the V6s. Someone still needs to explain to me how he, or anyone, can bypass those and actually have a V6 RETAIL order pulled...

The reason for the constraint is because of the dealer show cars, the definition of constraint is "to force by imposed stricture, restriction, or limitation". So while they are building the dealers v6 there is a limitation on how many sold v6’s they are making. Constraint does not mean stop

So, how many U.S. V6's have moved beyond 1100? NONE!

And then there's his definitive answer to the ABL....they won't do it if they can't do it right. Now there's some detailed info. for all of us to digest.

Sorry, I'm just a whole lot disappointed right now.
i agree with you i am also disappointed at the fact that they wont' give us info for the people who ordered a V6, i guess they want the big bucks on the SS

Never said it did. Simply said someone like RPO who has a March allocation can't override the system and order a V6 if his first priority number was a V6 instead of his 8th.

So to say the V6 isn't somehow constrained (i.e. a dealer can somehow actually order one that he sold) is totally confusing.

Agreed. It is really all speculation until then. I didn't say I didn't trust what Fbodfather said- I 100% do. It's just that there is absolutely no confirmation of it yet and that's what's causing the "discomfort" and issues we see.

Hmm....I never looked at it as a forced buy. Have you done the math? It translates into around a cool 22 mil. Drop in the bucket I suppose, but every little bit of stimilus helps.

Hey, trm, remember, we're gettin' SS's, we don't have to care so much about the V6ers.

I care about EVERYBODY- even the little people

They are every bit as much Camaro enthusiasts as we are, just "underfunded" at this particular point in their lives. I was there once too.

Dealers at this point cannot order STOCK V6 cars. that is cars that they want to just sit on their lots. BUT they Can order SOLD V6 cars. These cars will be mixed in with the Dealer cars. Most dealers right now see the constraint on the V6 coming through and think they can't order ANY V6 cars, GM needs to inform them to submit their SOLD V6 orders as they come up just as the SS orders are.....
I may be wrong but a little birdie told me this information and I believe him...

I don't disagree with the assessment. All I'm saying is we have yet to see a dealer actually have a V6 order pulled and as far as I'm concerned, RPO's system wouldn't let him do it. Why would any other dealer be different?

Hopefully we'll see a whole bunch of V6s eligible to be pulled on 3/15; but right now, it appears they are not.
