My Chevy dealer has trucked my car out to the track a few times in return for being allowed to drive it there. GM knows I run this on the track, having talked to a regional manager about and had engineers looking at it. Never once had a warranty issue. As said, know your dealer, don't try and rip them off when you do something completely stupid and they will try and help you out.

Chevrolet advertises the Horsepower ratings, and even goes as far as to say "an available 6.2l 426 HP V8 adds even more pedal to the metal prowess".

On their website they showing someone smoking the tires, racing around a closed course and doing a 360 degree spin out.

No where in the video do they say it is dangerous, or that your warranty will be void if you do it.

The car is designed to be aggressively driven. And just because you drive it aggressively, does not mean you are abusing it.

I'm sure that warranty is voided for misuse - but it would have to be like neutral dropping and stuff like that. The car is built to race - it has competitive mode for crying out loud!

As for insurance - State Farm has no issues with you racing at a strip - you wreck at a strip it is considered collision as if you hit a tree on the road. I spoke to them about this, so I have no worries.

Ok.... late to the party...

Took my Mustang in for warranty work... still had the numbers from the track on the windshield, N20 system installed in plain sight.. took it in for a throttle body problem... they could have EASILY tried to blame the N20... Service writer leans inside to get the cars mileage... he then looks up at me and says "Why is there a helmet in your car?" And gives me a smirk... problem was fixed with no questions... LOL
