Glad you got him, tho... My insurance company is still investigating mine - sent a letter to the registered owner requesting the car be brought in for inspection. Willing to bet they lawyered up and slowed the process down even more....
Ladybug, some things you can do to speed up the process:
Depending on your state, and what you feel prudent, one of the best things you can do is file a small claim against the person. People tend to get the picture really quick when you serve them with court paperwork. If you show up dressed professionally, with documentation in hand and state they've not cooperated with the investigation, then provide the evidence you have, you'll likely get a judgment... especially if the hit and run driver is some tool or doesn't show. Most states, if they don't show you get a default judgment.

Additionally, the odds of any lawyer taking a property damage only case like that one are VERY slim. People tend to think that a lawyer will take the case, but they only do it if they smell $$$... and there's no $$$ in helping someone deny that they hit a parked car. Your insurance company has restraints that prevent them from doing certain things that you can do, and also from giving you legal advice. You can take matters into your own hands to speed things up.

Additionally, many states will suspend a driver's license if the person causes over $X property damage and fails to pay (WA it's $700). I should end by saying I'm not a lawyer but a claims adjuster, so take anything I say with a grain of salt and research laws near you

I am thinking that where his car was in contact has structure under it, and on my car, it is just the skin over void. I do not know if the Chally's have plastic fascia like the Camaro or metal...that would make a difference, too.

Hope you get your claim solved soon, but at least your insurance is pursuing it, not you.
