So after I install the Roto-Fab intake all I will have to cap to use the breather kit is...

"Pic 4 : Stock tube near firewall capped off, drivers side, under the cheap gray back engine cover."

Is that correct?

I assume you will have to cap off something on the roto-fab as well, where it would normally attach to the stock tube.

I think rtcatman just used a bolt to plug the tube.

Yes Indeed, I found a bolt in my bucket of bolts that threaded into the end of the tube.

Yes Indeed, I bought a rubber plug from the local ACO and plugged the INJEN opening.

Easy to install, Not as hard as everyone makes it out to be. I removed the wheel to make things easier.

We state it is not neccessay since so many were confused when we tried to give directions, but these guys have done a FAR better job than I in explaining it and providing pictures as well as where and what to get to cap it. We will add this to the instructions in the future though.

We are here to help.

Went with the CAI, inc. Will be here early next week. I'm sure it will be pretty self evident in person but I was wondering if anyone using a breather has plugged the clean side of the pcv line using a CAI, inc.? Thanks for the help. BTW, the catch can looks great. Thanks Tracy. Just noticed that my particular can (polished) didn't come with the Rx logo on it. No biggie. Looks great either way.

Thanks again for these instructions and pics...made everything a lot easier and looks very clean. RF is on hold for a while so this RX catch can installation with the stock intake is perfect for now.

I removed the long pipe (with the oil catch can for lack of a better description), may as well remove it, so it's not in the way flopping around.
Inserted plug into rubber tube coming off the intake on drivers side.
Inserted other plug into rubber tube on drivers side near the firewall on top of valve cover.
I zip tied it in place, to prevent it from rattling off now that they aren't connected to anything.
No cutting necessary and i can revert back to stock at any time.
There was definately oil in the tube, not much but it was there.
Pic 1 : part no. for plugs. 2 of them.
Pic 2 : Remove unnecessary stock tube and can.
Pic 3 : Stock tube capped off at the stock intake.
Pic 4 : Stock tube near firewall capped off, drivers side, under the cheap gray back engine cover.

Thanks for the clarification SC2150, nice to know this is not a big deal, but i wanted to finish it just the same.

That looks great! Very clean indeed. I seem slow to get how an oil catch can works though..even after reading all the great info. If that being capped off..where would all that oil go that usually drips from the that opening(not sure what its called) down the tube and into the catch can?

Realize that this is the clean side we are capping off, when used with the RX breather in place of the stock oil cap. There was oil in this clean side tube leading from the valve cover into the intake, so some oil certainly gets into the intake in stock configuration, but not really that much.

The dirty side is the tube that is being rerouted through a catch can, this is where oil ingestion into the intake is problematic, especially at wide open throttle. There are many other threads for install of the catch can itself on here.

So I'm changing out my intake for the INJEN longtube..and in the meantime going to switch my RX catch can to driver side. Kind of killing two birds with one stone since I am not 100 percent comfortable where mine is right now. With the injen longtube do you guys cap off the intake? Also..I don't know why I haven't thought of this before..but could me not capping off the intake be the reason for my terrible MPG? I usually drive in the city and I'm getting around 15 mpg...which I don't feel is right. What could other causes be for the MPG? Last time I checked I have 6 cylinders under the hood lol.

Rx can on the dirty side is it's own install. Cut the existing dirty side line and install rx can inline with that per instructions from tracy.
The capping done in this thread is for the clean side and can be done if you are running the breather in the oil filler cap. It is optional, but i did see oil in the tube i removed in this post.
If you have the breather cap, and want to do this, yes, cap off the injen.

My mpg is in 16s too. Sux, mostly seems to bw from too much sitting in traffic going nowhere.

I also had oil in the tube on the clean side before I capped it off.
I get about 19mpg avg but I spend over half my time on the freeway so it sounds like you're right in the range.

How do you guys get such terrible mileage? I get 19mpg just in the city (2LT, MT) and I drive the crap out of the car.

I have the Injen long tube sitting in the garage waiting to be installed. You are only talking about capping it if you have a catch can, correct? I don't have a catch can at the moment, so if I simply follow the Injen instructions I should be fine, correct?
