This is an interesting topic in here. And I feel the urge of posting something. Or, I may suggest that it's probably a good idea to open a new topic titled "Chicks and Camaros" for two things. First identifying what memebers are chicks and second, to attract guyz like me .

Well, I have been in love with so many cars and women. And honest to god, I have never been thinking as much about any of each as I am with the Camaro. I see her in my dreams, I talk about her when I'm awake, I think about her when I work, I think about her even when I'm having sex with the girl next door. Lolz

What drives me Crazy about this car? it is the fact that it is a solid ass kicker. Even the lamest piece of shit of a guy will look like a bad Motherfu**er in it. How will I look in it!! the second thing I love about it is the SIDE MIRRORS lolz. Forget about it! this is the shit for me!!

Well the best answer I can come up with is... Let me catch my breath... Yeah that's about it. It takes my breath away. I'm currently deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom. It's been a rough deployment. Since I've been here I've had friends wounded and my girlfriend of 2 1/2 years has left me. So when I need some help to get through to the next day. I log on to Camaro5. I know I'm a new member, but I've been reading the threads for a long time. Just to read post from people as excited as me over this car puts me in a better mood. I have already turned several of the guys over here on to Camaros. They come to me to ask if I have any new updates on it. I'm just enjoying the courtship for the next year and a half.

Personally, I think that ^ is the one underlying aspects of everybody's reasoning...except those who "only want to go fast"... The comradery that this car has managed to generate over the years.

Dunk, man, I'm glad you enjoy this site so much.
And, maybe... when you get this car, she'll come running back - at which point, you splatter her with burnt rubber, huh?

Dunk, glad to see that this car is driving you crazy and yet keeping you in good spirits through your demise. Keep up the good work over there and to every end there lies a mean, or something like that. Anyway, keep your head up.

Hey thanks Dragon, daddyseth1 and Tag. I really appreciate that. I read as many posts as time will allow and although I know no one on these boards. I fell as though I am beginning to see what kind of people everyone on here is and you're all good people as far as I'm concerned.

I think 2001ragtop captured my feelings as well about it. Especially since around here, in europe, conservative european cars are even more common, and it really is boring. I like the Camaro because it's different, it stands out, it doesn't look like a damn modded small Audi or Volkswagen, it looks powerful and mean to start with.

Also my dad used to be a bit of an American car enthusiast and he finally sold his last American car when I was seven since he lost his company and we couldn't afford a car anymore (luckily for us the Swedish local traffic system is great so we managed for a few years while we got ourselves back on track). Sadly I can't remember what kind of car it was at the moment, but I did use to call it "The Black Car" since it was black and used to ask him to "run the wheels dad!" which was my way to ask him to do burnouts So it's really a part of me long going wanting to have back thaf feel of having a real American power car. Even at my young age back then I realised that it was special.

My dad has since gone on to after having a row of conservative, economical cars (one of which I have as mine now, even though it has some more oomph then a regular Saab) to get a motorcycle as his toy and is happy with that, but that's not my thing. My youngest sister at one point asked my dad if he was going to buy a new Camaro since she thought it looked cool and my dad said "no, I'm happy with my motorcycle, I sort of fell out of the power car thing a while back. I think your brother should get one though", indicating me. And who am I to let him down Not to mention that I hope to plant that love of American cars in my own son one day (granted, if I have children).

EDIT: okay, asked my dad about the car since I just couldn't remember what it was. It was a '66 Plymouth Valiant, the version that had the most goodies to start with when it was bought. He'd changed out the V6 in it to a V8 and put in a better automatic gearbox. Maybe not the best looking or biggest car in the world buy he loved working on it and it surely made me like cars with V8s

I'm going to start with the off-topic conversation first of women and Camaros. You don't see many Camaro owners that are females, and if they are, they usually drive the V6 Camaros....but there are a few V8 owners and I have to say 90% of the women that drive em, at least where I'm from, are pretty damn hot!

But my main history or what drives me crazy is that I had a rich friend growing up and his parents bought him a 69 Camaro....god I hated him, haha. But riding around in it when I was 17 attracted me to the Camaro more and more. My first car was an 89 Buick Skylark, a PIECE of crap! But it was a GM nonetheless, next I owned a 94 S10....god I loved that truck, then bought a 2003 Impala, nice car but I felt OLD in it....so 4 months after I bought the Impala I went to the dealership to get my right mirror replace, some dumbass broke it, and it was fate....I saw that blue 2000 Z28 just sitting there, kinda like the kid from Transformers when he saw Bumblebee. I was sold. I told the lady right there, screw fixing the mirror, can I trade it in for the Camaro???

Ever since then it has been my best friend, my partner in crime. It's only lost 2 races, NEVER to a Ford or import. Lost to a Corvette and a Trans Am. One thing that is so great as well, is when I go away on business or when I was in the Navy and was at sea, getting back home after not driving it for a while is just the greatest thing. To hear her startup, rev, drive, and everything is just a blessing. It's gonna be great after being gone for 11 months and starting her up and taking her out to pick up the new partner in crime.

^ True True... Everytime I'm gone and I get back. Driving my expo is a new experience. But when I had my firebird. I could not drive it for months, but when I got back in it, it just....fit.
