What happens when the battery in your fob dies? Guess you're SOL? Or is there a backup?

what happens if your main battery dies the window has to roll down 1/4 an inch for clearnce i need to read my owners manual but there is a way around this to get into your car

and on the volt it had a reg fob like yours and mine with a key but nothing to plug it into in the driveing colome (craping spelling alwell) so it DID have a key switch blade style and it did have key locks on the doors and trunk so if the battery dies you can unlock the doors with the lazar key but with a car like that you rarely need a key same conspet for the camaro (randomly speeking i should have took the volt for a test drive)

*edit* most cars with this come with a key just a differnt microchip inside it so you dont need it to start it hence push button nothing to plug the key into and in some cars like koenigsegg it had both it had a round key that fits into a slot behind the driver when its in then push start can be used also has a reg key incase it dies

What is funny it really is like push button. Just turn your key to start real quick and let off. The car will start right up. So it is not like you are holding the key foward to keep the starter engaged till the car fires up.

The only weird thing when you do that you will see Service Stabiltrack come up for a second versus holding the key forward till it starts.

You know when I was growing up we had to get up off our ass's to change the channel and turn up or down the volume on the tv. Heck we had to pull a knob for it to turn on.

I think we are getting a little lazy, we will have weak fingers for not exercising them turning that key.

you can do that now try it next time just twist and let go dont need to hold it as i mentioned before its ONE step below push start the starter automaticly kicks in even if you dont hold the key forward

i always get in twist let go and as the car auto starts put seatbelt on ect ect its nice

*edit* found that out by accadent went to go start it and my fingers sliped and i let go i was scared i would hurt my car half starting it but to my suprize it just fired right up i was like O.O whoa thats cool

I understand the muscle car argument, but its in a 505HP z06, it's not like chevy is against putting em in muscle cars or anything. Just odd some features were not even options on the camaro... I know a lot of people wouldn't have wanted nav, but I feel like thats an option on almost any car today.

We don't have park assist, auto criuse control, auto crash avoidance, and about a dozen other things available on other cars.. Come on people this isn't a space ship, leave the driving to us.. Next thing you know these lazy people will want the door to automatically open for them when they approach and then close when they sit down so they never have to lift a finger.. Geesh

Remember when people thought talking cars were cool..."Your Door Is Ajar", "Fasten your seat belts", "Your headlights are on", "Your trunk is Open". Another fad that will fall by the wayside is the push button start. My dad had a car back in the 30's that had it...Fads come and go...

Damn legislators.
That is because you have people that don't know you should always have your foot on the brake when taking a car out of park. Stupid drivers have run over people because they put their car into gear without looking and the car started moving. So instead of educateing the drivers they put the interlock on them. Same reasoning about the Clutch interlock on manual cars to keep them from starting when the car is in gear and the clutch is not depressed.
