Passengers can be just as bad as inconsiderate owners, not only do they damage your car. (innocent bystander)

They mess up your door by swinging it open without a care in the world.

I'm right at 40,000 miles on mine and have had about 4-5 'dings'. I've taken my Camaro to the Ding Doctor twice since I had her-the MORAL is, you're gonna get the dings, if it's a daily driver...HOWEVER, IF things work out in your favor (hope they do) maybe you can find somewhere else to park? FAR away from other cars?

That is horrible, and to have it happen at work is even worse. You would hope your co-workers would respect the cars in the parking lot. I hope you get it paid for and fixed like new very soon.

I already accepted the fact that I will get dings. I have no problem with "real dings" because I can get it popped out for like 60 bucks. But in this case, it's so bad that it will rust if I dont get it done the right way. I'm at 1k miles and I had the car for about a month so it makes it all the worst. And I see it everytime I get into the car because it's close to the door handle. I'll give you guys an update on this at the end of the day because I'm going to talk to the guy again later.

Knowing that dings are a fact of life and holding people accountable for causing them are two different things. You're well within your rights to pursue this, in fact I'd say you'd be negligent not to.

The cost beyond the financial is the stress this is/will cause you. That's the big thing to consider here. This jackass isn't likely to thank you for calling whomever his passenger was on his carelessness....he doesn't seem the type to appreciate personal responsibility. Ultimately it's up to you. You know that his car caused the damage, it seems unlikely that anyone involved is going to cough up the bucks to fix it. But justice can sometimes be worth the frustration. I think any way you slice it you need to view the videos if only to know for yourself.

The biggest thing to this is to be aware so it doesn't happen again....and again....

Hang in there! Sorry you had to go through this!
