What concerns me is the handling, the skid pad results, .88, as well as the Motor Trend video which shows that the driver had to actually prevent the car from skidding out of control during the slalom test. The essence of my '69 Camaro (Unibody helped, I bet) is that only did it look timelessly beautiful, but it had the power and superb handling. The new one seems to have downgraded the handling perhaps in favor of the independent rear wheel suspension as well as that other disappointment, the weight, 3,800 pounds worth, that is a porker, to me! Not sure, but I think the '69 was in the 3,400 hundred curb weight range. That is, there are structural limitations on this newest generation that I do not think can be addressed. I read there were two development groups working on the Camaro, the first wanted to build a completely “retro” version much like the early version Mustang and new Challenger, Lutz opted for this one. I kind of wish he went with the first team, instead. You know what? I went and tried to find some of these online and looks like the Chevy team co-opted them so all you see is this produced version, kind of proves my point. I bet the retro model would have had not only the looks but the reduced weight and superior handling to go along with it.

However, the number of people that would actually pay for a $2,000 NAV radio is very small. The number buying $900 sunroof is very high. There is substantial tooling and development costs involved in nearly every option. Traditionally there are very few people in this segment that pay (depending on your sticker) 5 to 10% more for NAV Radio. Plus with the huge popularity in Garmin, Tom Tom etc. the sales volume for built in NAV is even lower, expecailly in this segment. OnStar turn by turn is actually better in every way except you don't see the map.

Captured Test Fleet. Sorry, but a lot of people on Camaro5 have read my posts and know that. I wasn't thinking of the new members. My bad.

Well, when you can come up with the money for the engineering, development, and integration of those features, be sure to send the check to GM.

Great honest review. It really doesn't sound like this car has any downsides except the smallish trunk opening but at least it has plenty of room inside.

Gramp's Camaro

I would love to read the "3 months with Number 3" review but my computer apparently doesn't have the program it was typed on so I cannot get it. I have the Microsoft Works Word Processor on my computer. I'm also not very good at computers. Can anyone cut and paste this review to the program I have or offer any other suggestions so I can access it? Thanks.

Ordered RJT 2SS, RS, 6M 10/30/08. TPW 4/13/09. Current order status at 2000

If you would have read the whole thread, you would have seen that I already converted his document to PDF format. See the following link.

Thanks codykniffen but I had tried that as well and got the following:

Y_ËjâiE:m?.p÷u?Y7¢°Û`[·þ??Ka©??Ô«MeX?¢¤Ö8â7W?iwøQb*X?ØÄ%5@²?eX¹uL¦?Ø HkÖi+}û¾ËÜ ÁbÜk*ô?üÔLl¡q¸0ba>µ0]P¬ðlØhr2?Ï0Y0Ûf?*ª×?Ñn¾!(2ÀX?2?ð°Ô¬ëD¡+%tÀ.«q·

As you can see, it is not readable. Any other suggestions?
