I really didn't expect that kind of game last night. lol I had a good feeling the pats would win, but i figured the defense would be a little tougher then that, and I also didn't think Henne would be that good. Miami's offense was pretty good, and I know the defense is better then they showed. I'm confident in miami having a better record then last season.

I've been a huge football fan my whole life, and that's something I'll never understand - why they put the TOTAL yards from a pass play under "passing yards" stats...

Welker wouldn't be able to run the rest of the way if Brady didn't put the ball OVER the defender for Welker to catch and run in stride. They both get credits for the play. Longest pass and longest reception 99 yds 2 feet and 11 inches to be exact

Okay let's not overreact! The reason why the defense was sluggish is because they were playing in Miami! Between the heat and the humidity of course the defense will be sluggish! Yes henne looked good but he always plays pretty well in the beginning of the season in Miami. Let's reserve judgement!

Patriots Defense looked horrible but again attribute it to Miami weather! Yes pats weakness is the secondary but in all honesty as much as I hate to admit it their pass rush will be a force to be reackon with!

It's week 1! let's wait until atleast week 4! I mean according to the first week stats, cam newton, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Sanchez and henne looked like top ten qb's! And the bills look like a dominant team!

Yeah but like I said henne plays better in the beginning. He'll implode! And you can't call it home when most people cheer for the away team!

there was a point in the game that i think the Pats pace even took a toll on itself, Brady looked like he was on the sidelines gasping on more than one occasion.
As far as the secondary, it will be just fine...Mcourty is an up & coming star, Chung will be a very good safety, Dowling (21)...the rookie that played a lot last night had some tight coverage, and has been highly praised, we'll have to see..... and Bodden is an experienced and seviceable veteran.
I think the conditions really played a big role in both d's performance last night, I think the d-line for the Pats will definitely help the secondaries play... and overall the defensive play will only get better for the Pats....but hey, I'm a little biased.
Actually though...I really do expect the Pats defensive play to be the best it's been in some time!!!!
Chargers at home Sunday with dry air & temps in the 60's

Because it's an absolute art to be able to lead a reciever tward a spot or an alley or an opening to the area that the reciever has the best opportunity for more yards. And one that's really good at it can FORCE an otherwise average reciever to that opening by making him chase the ball. Most of the time he has to anticipate the spot throwing in front of a moving target AND make sure it's in that leading spot.

Plus, it's the easiest way to keep it simple. Sacks are subjective when they have to 'share' them. there are plays where the reciever does most of the work to get the yards. And there are plays where the QB throws to a spot making the riciever find the opening. Need to make it less subjective and more acurate.

Joe Montana would be the most effected by that. That West Coast Offense was designed as a toss and run.

No. But if Ryan Fitzpatrick is on top of the list, it must be pretty stupid. lol

It was nice to see the fins snap brady's record of passes with no INT. Not as good as a win, but I have to take what I can get. Lol
