If I were a Mustang fan like you I wouldnt buy this Mustang. I would wait until the next generation for the 50th Anniversary and buy one of those instead. The new one will likely blow this one away in a few years. Not sure about in the performance aspect but from a looks perspective for sure probably.

Ford has waited now on two occasions for GM to make the first move.

First when Ford waited for the Camaro SS to debut before the 5.0L, and now waiting for the ZL1 before the new GT500.

Yea ZL1 definitely looks better tho. Carbon fiber Mohawk black 10 spoke 20's all around instead of 19's up front like the new shelby. Yea give me the ZL1. Besides when can u go 200 mph anyway? I ride my bike on the track and the fastest I've gotten is 170 mph before I gotta brake for turn 1!

I dont know after looking at another pic of the new Shelby GT500 it EVEN has the wheels similar to a Corvette ZR-1's wheels. HMMMMMM Things dont look good at all.

Whoa pump your breaks, as you can see if you read the whole thing, the "track package" is an option on the new shelby while the same things will be stadard on the ZL1. From the looks of it all shelby is doing is coping the Z. I definitely doubt that car will be $60,000 for all that theres no way in hell especially with a carbon fiber driveshaft, they have more up that sleeve if anything.

Well if it was raining I'd put all my $$ on the ZL1 and mode 1 of the PTM ! Shelby would be spinning the tires all day in the rain I think the interior of the mustang still looks cheaper than the ZL1. Little details like microfiber suede, red stitching around the seats and shifter make me "feel better" than being in the dull interior of the GT500. These are facts and I'm sure most would agree. Performance wise I'm not hating at all on the new GT500. I hope it performs ok. I will love to see a showdown from several magazines next summer to declare a winner between the two brands' top muscle cars.

I was a little shocked at first by the HP numbers...
But we got to keep in mind We are part of a winning team...

Chevy knew Ford was going to do this....
really, it probably should not even surprise us. Only thing that really surprises me is the timing.. I would not think Ford would slap something together that fast..and keep in mind really thats all they have done here. They made a bigger power plant to stick in the same car... Power is no good to a driver if it cannot be managed.. Why would this 2013 handle or put power down to the pavement any better than its siblings? It won't.
That is they're first mistake and gives us leverage...
Besides... 2012 ZL1 owners will have better things to do than looking for the first 2013 GT500 to hit the street....
We will have made our mark on this country then.
