By itself NO! But as part of a complete portfolio of new cars designed for today’s market and built better than any Honda/Toyota GM stands a fighting chance.

So the next 2 or 3 new vehicles will show the world the true state of GM and weather or not they are relevant.

For 2011 GM should: can the Avalanche, Impala, Aveo, and Cobalt. Build the Cruze, refine the Silverado, can the GMC Sierra, refine the Equinox, keep the Traverse, keep the Cadillac CTS Sedan, build the CTS Coupe, can the Buick Enclave, keep the Corvette, refine the Camaro, refine the Malibu. They would be on a better road with this line-up.

Why would they can the Impala? Yes it's getting old in the tooth but the thing is their best selling car in Nort America. Pure gravy train at this point.

Aveo and Cobalt both have replacements slated in the next year or so, Equinox just got redesigned for 2010, Sierra still sells thousands of units every month and has a very loyal customer base, Enclave also sells thousands of units a month and is crucial to Buick's success, Impala also sells thousands of units every month, Avalanche is most likely going on Lambda in the next few years, and the Camaro's only been in production for a few months and you're already asking for it to be refined?

Thumbs up

From what I have read, the Camaro is selling VERY well and orders are being taken everyday. The news is reporting that the dealerships can't keep the cars on their lots for long, because people are buying them up!!
GREAT NEWS!!!!

GM needs to get rid of all the repetition in their product lines and focus on making one EXCELLENT product line from compact up to large trucks. They still have too many repeats across their brands. Their reluctance to do what has been needed for years now has put them in Chapter 11. Example: the GMC Sierra and the Silverado are essenially the same truck. Can one and keep the other. You don't see Honda or Toyota building multiple versions of basically the same vehicle and neither should GM. Since I now own part of GM (because my tax dollars have been dumped into it to help keep it afloat) I would like to see the investment pay off eventually. I've owned a number of GM cars (Chevrolet, Buick, Olds) and I liked them all. I look forward to more GM vehicles. I hope Mr. Henderson and the new board will fix the problems and re-emerge better and stronger than ever. I just hope they listen to people this time.
