Also part of the 1100 club. People vent on forums. No changing that. Just think of all the marriages this site could be saving! If you vent on Camaro5, you won't vent on your husband or wife!

I think what we are in is a new phase that hasn't fully developed. What I mean is the internet bringing together customers as enthusiasts and the company that makes the product. Not that long ago products were built and all we had was some car magazine to offer a little info and we had to wait in the dark.
With this new internet world the company is taking advantage of it to build hype and anticipation for the product so it takes off faster when it hits the market. The enthusiasts uses it to gain knowledge of a coming product they are interested in. The balance between the two has not been reached yet. In the mean time we go through growing panes. If a company wants to create a following for an upcoming product more info should be given to keep up the hype and interest of the customer and on the other hand the customer must understand a company can't be expected to bare their sole. Some day a balance will be struck. JMO |

YOU ARE CORRECT SANDI
The bottom line is there was very little (or no) communication about the ordering process, and setting realistic expectations for the customers, especially for the early oderers. The thing that keeps pissing people off especially about American automobile manufacterers is the perception of poor quality and customer satisfaction. We know the quality part has been fixed. Customer satisfaction is a hell of a lot cheaper and easier to correct.
Not sure where some of the forum members think that keeping us up to date would have cost money - they are paying the "customer" service reps salaries to tell us to call the dealer - everyone knows its cheaper and more efficient to do it on line, so it actually would have saved money. And I honestly don't blame the dealers because from what we've each found out, few of them are being told anything. And not sure where some members think that keeping us informed has anything to do with getting the cars out sooner and affecting quality!?! They are separate and distinct parts of major companies. I certainly would expect for my $30K (that I will be paying to GM )that I could get information about about what to expect. I will cost $0 (thats ZERO DOLLARS) for someone who can officially say in this and other forums, where they are in the process of rolling the cars out - no one is expecting individual phone calls!!! (Where did someone get the idea you were suggesting that??). Although if the dealer was really in the know, maybe he/she could. I give you credit for telling it like it is, you've leveled with them and voiced yours and a lot of our frustrations. AND CAMARO SCOTTY, we appeciate your assistance, but you and the other dealers who have been helping should not have to do this on your own. I respect that you have to walk the fine line about defending GM and giving us as much info as you can. Don't quit now. SandiCandi did not attack you. |

Hey as long as we all get our cars by the end of Q3 i don't think we have anything to complain about. However i would say that our idea of a preorder is that you can get your copy the day the item is available for sale however that doesn't work here because this is cars and GM not Walmart, and while i don't like the idea that GM is making stock cars for lots before my V6 i understand they are running a business

I am not interested in the outs and ins of GM's dealer requirements or avis's requirements or stock requirements. I ordered at 2 pm Oct. 13. told I was # 9 on the West coast to order. I put up my money signed the order and I deserve to be one of the first to receive my car on this side of the country. Don't tell me about how u ordered 2 weeks ago and got your tpw and its all politics and other such bogus bologna. I ordered first and should be first. No ifs ands or buts.
