The Viper beat the ZR1's time around the nurburgring, 7:22 vs 7:26.

My argument still stands. And it's still a stupid debate.

NO SIR!!!! The ZR1 shaved 4 seconds off that lap time last year, it is now
7:22.4 seconds. That is only .3 seconds off of the Viper ACR which is not street legal (front splitter) and is striped out with cup tires. The ZR1 is his hand down superior. Do some reseach yourself aswell.

I know it is a stock car, and street legal and it's in a showroom. I am saying it comes with no carpet, no radio, no AC, no passenger seat, 14 way adjustable suspension and aero parts and all out racing tires. It is made to be on a track, and there it does an amazing job. I would not want to drive one on the street, to work, or on a road trip however, unless I was married to a chiropractor.

Viper= amazing, I am just saying that for all the creature comforts you lose, I will take the car that is .3 second (Thats right tenths of a second) slower.

If you want the fastest car, get the Viper, if you want something that can at least possibly be used as a daily driver, I'd be gunning for a ZR-1.

A tick over 13.0 sec. and you're through the quarter-mile. It's a rush, of course, but not overly dramatic. Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."

Have a 1300 cc bike that will toast a Ferrari. Power to weight is where it's at for sure. Large engine dosen't mean better or quicker track times. HOWEVER, try driving a large powerful engine such as a new Camaro. You'll be easily converted from the turbo toaster you currently drive. There's just something about a powerful V-8 that can't be ignored. You don't feel a SMALL BUZZY ENGINE THE SAME WAY AS YOU DO A V-8. DRIVE BOTH AND TELL ME i'M WRONG!!! Someone on this board actually defended a CIVIC SI when compared to a new SS Camaro. Rock on with your 100+ HP and minimal torque. Again, if you think it's cool then, it's cool!!! It just may not be as fast as a Camaro!!!!

There is a big difference between going 0-60 because your car is light, and going 0-60 because your the victim of 425+hp

haha, as soon as i read the viper is faster than the zr1 round the ring i thought, well ya acr version...but you all cleared that up. i dunno who would want to buy an acr viper in the first place. really $$$ and i'm sure the ride would be horrible on the streets. unless all u do is race on a track, i would be getting a zr1. well, not that i could afford either, just sayin

i would love to park a 2010 Camaro SS next to a 2010 Mustang GT in my garage. I saw one of the 2010 GT's at work yesterday and i really like the styling...

Dunno if this was brought up..but what if GM actually canned the LS archetecture? We ARE still using pushrods.. and I think this is probably the last engine in GM's parts bin to use CIB.

Why not retool a Northstar DOHC LH2 and bore to 4.9(302ci)? Port for DI and we could cream ford's offering of the 5.0(304ci) Raptor. Also, note the displacement and read your history. What OTHER Camaro had a 302ci Small Block as an RPO?

Totally agree!

Actually.....

http://www.autoblog.com/2007/12/05/10-second-stock-c6-corvette-z06-on-run-flats/

I've been a GM fan all my life, but Ford securing huge equity right before market crash= WIN.

If the unthinkable happens to GM, I'll take a Rustang GT with a track pack, please.
