The wind noise with the top up is bugging me to the point I think I'd just like to move to a Sunroof rather than deal with potential problems like this for any length of time. My dealer attempted to tighten things up once and then stated the wind noise I hear is normal. I think I'm about to buy a 11 coupe with the zero percent financing that's available instead of hoping for a buyback as that seems like it will take upwards of a year and many more trips back and forth to the dealer.

If it is normal why do I have 2 TSB's in PDF form for them then?

It sounds like a 50/50 split of who thinks some wind noise is normal in a new convertible. I'm just stating what the dealer said, not my opinion but I'm frustrated by it whether it's my fault for not expecting it if it's a mechanical problem.

Well we pulled the trigger and ordered our replacement car today. Working out numbers with GM and if all goes well we will have our 45th anniversary vert some time in mid-June. Cross fingers and send good vibes our way that nothing fubars this up for us! We've had enough of the hassles and just want to be able to drive and enjoy OUR CAR...not have it sit in the shop for regular visits with the Service Department.

GM bought my 2011 Camaro coupe back at full MSRP, no mile deduction, and tax, title, and license fees paid for as well.

The only thing I had to pay for was the difference between my 2011 2LT (lemoned Camaro) and my 2012 2SS

I thank Josh at the GM Business office and the BBB team.

Just got my vert back from the dealer after GM installed a FULL replacement top, canvas/mechanics/water management. Big difference, no wind noise just like when I had my first top on the car. Even before this last replacement, when the dealer adjusted the top correctly there was very little wind noise.

I traded my convertible in on the coupe. I guess the smart move would have been to keep working on a fix or a buy back from GM but I couldn't stand the thought of all that back and forth to the dealer, loaner cars, leaving work early, calling, writing etc etc etc. I'm going to write another letter to GM but I suspect they won't offer any compensation since I didn't wait. I have some anxiety problems periodically as it is and worrying about this was literally making me sick so hopefully I did the right thing.

You did what was right for you and that's all that counts. Even though GM was quite generous with my buyback, it doesn't make up for, time off from work, letters, back and forth, cheap ass rentals (I once got a cadillac dts, but that' only because they didn't have any cheap ones and the cadillac came in. I raised a bit of a stink and go the cadillac), missed summer with my car, being treated as if I were a complete idiot by service dept mananager #1 ( I caused the rub marks and holes by burning it with a cigarette, my car leaked into the rear floorboard after top replacement because I took it through a brushless automatic car wash.. he even had the nerver to send me a reply email with pictures from the owners manual regarding proper top operation and stated customer cooperation is essential to a good relationship, I digress, that a thread in it's own right.

If i had even an inkling that I wanted a coupe, maybe I would have gone your route. For me, vert or no Camaro.

Cam62, vert or no Camaro for me too. As I head to the garage to take it out of hibernation and put the top down for the first time this year, fingers crossed.

You guys are stressing me out as I just ordered a new 2012 Summit White 2SS/RS Vert! Reading thru the thread tho, it seems like these problems are mostly related to the 2010-2011 cars? Anyone had any problems with the '12's yet???

My 12 was made 7/27. I took delivery 8/4. Had it on the road till 11/1. In that time 23 days in the shop. Since ownership, 110 days in the shop with work and waiting on parts. My new car should be here in 3 weeks or so. The complete fix for the tops is on the line as of February according to my sources at the top of the Camaro pyramid. I wouldn't worry. If I did, I wouldn't of ordered another new 2012 SS Vert

We're also "biting the bullet" and having a 2011 bought back and buying a 2012. Having more faith in all of this as time goes by!!

Are you getting the same colors for your 2012? I really like the summit white with orange stripes!
