Not so much a toyota problem but with no throttle linkage anymore I really can see this happening an ANY vehicle. The camaro included.

Who ever decided that throttle should be controlled by electronics, is a freaking MORON.

Period.

I just think of a cab when I think of a prius.

Finally an honest Prius owner! Note the vanity plate and how they douoble park their sorry excuse for a car. I mean really, to double park is an attempt to protect your car from damage. So let's show off our high and mighty intelligence by douoble parking next to the cart corral, most people I see simply push their carts in the direction of the corral. DUH!

Toyota didn't get where they are today by being that stupid. Such a huge recall is going to cost a humongous amount of money, if it's not going to fix the problem then why would they do it? They'd end up with an even worse PR nightmare and maybe Ralph Nader would write a book about it...

You want to see some stupidity, go read that link again...

the inquiry was prompted by a highspeed crash in August in California of a Lexus barreling out of control. As the vehicle hit speeds exceeding 120 mph, family members made a frantic 911 call and said the accelerator was stuck and they couldn’t stop the vehicle.
They had the time and clarity of mind to call 911, but not to try pulling up the pedal by hand, putting it in neutral, using the brakes and emergency brake, shutting off the engine (if you turn the key back while in D it won't lock the steering), and/or steering into something (like a jersey barrier/guardrail/sand) that could slow them down without killing them? I alone thought of all of those things in the time it would take them to call 911; if the whole family couldn't think of ANY of those things in that time, then none of them should be allowed to drive. When you drive, there's a chance you'll encounter such a situation, and with so many easy answers you should try them.

THis will cost Toyota a whole lot more money than simply recalls... All those lawsuits need to go back to court as well.. This could be Toyota's undoing.
