If 9169 have been built and the truck driver said there are 9000 waiting to be delivered or are in the process of being delivered, and only a handful are on dealer's lots or in buyer's hands-----then the truck driver was basically telling the truth.
Don't know how it could be construed any other way. What intially sounded like BS is basically TRUE!

I'm guessing the 9000 is including the dealer cars, and cars going to places like Avis.

That's it. This thread should be over. I kinda think Hylton is a definitive answer...

Since GM shut down the VIN site how do we know how many cars have been built?

actually they have produced 350 a day. week before last they did about 1780 in 1 week.
At the rate they are going they can do 80,000 per year.

A lot of the cars are already in the regional railyards.
Remember only the cars within a certain radius of oshawa leave by truck, the rest go by rail, which really slows up the process, because they sit at the railyard before the trucks pick them up.
I'd be willing to bet that the 9000 number is not that far off.

Some of the last Vin # issued for example thru 4-24 was in the 5360 range. Come on pull on your boots and do a little searching before spreading bogus info. Some new folks might get the wrong idea and think we are all a bunch of ****** and that is just not the case. Way to go Hylton. Your credibility speaks volumes between your words.

READ THE REPORT!!!!

OK first of all if you actually read the report it says that a total of 9,160 have been produced from 1/1 through 4/25.

No THINK ABOUT IT! A portion of those are going to be CTF vehicles.
What you want to look at to get a better "consumer" produced vehicle number is the column that says 4/1 - 4/25 (which we know also contains dealer "show room" cars. That number is 6,745.

So .... unless we know how many dealership cars were produced there is no way to get any idea how many consumer cars are produced.
