mine has bad play in 500 miles of normal driving, HURST Shifters used to be good, now they are junk, spend $300 for a piece of junk

Mine is 5 months old and is horrible about 1.5 of play side to side I am tying to find out how to get it fixed But I want Hurst parts if possible
Do you have to pull the shifter back out to replace the bushing ? or just remove the clip

The white plastic bushing pictured above is available free from Hurst. Call 1-800-544-4761.

When the metal bushing is available, it will be offered on Hurst's website- http://www.hurst-shifters.com for a price.

It should not be necessary to take out the shifter to replace with either of these. Just remove the clips, slide out the pin, remove the old bushings and press in the new. Then slide the pin back in and re-clip.

I got my bushings from NH-SS installed a couple weeks ago. Best set of bushings ever. They're not mass produced they're exact tolerance and once burnished the best thing i've ever driven hands down. BRAVO CAMARO5 FAMILY!

So I have to pay for the better SST bushing! And my time doing this twice.
Makes me want to think about a MGW Shifter instead .:(
Hurst needs to fix this right.

Cripes!! I just bought the aftermarked Hurst shifter a couple of weeks ago. Fortunately I haven't installed it yet and have time to get the better bushings before doing so.

Any updates on the "extreme duty" bushings yet? I've only had my shifter in for 2 months and already there is almost 3/4" of play. Very disappointing.
