I ordered mine in Feb 2009 and I knew a lot more about the models and options than he did. Of course, I had been cruising this site for awhile before I ordered. I had the satisfaction of brushing off their finance "lady" since I already had it in place and they couldn't match. Sales guy did follow up with me during the process and did everything he could to make it what turned out to be an awsome expirence.

A couple of weeks ago, a good friend of mine and I went to the Stealership in Burkburnett, TX. The salesman who approached us seemed to be really wet behind the ears. In fact, when we asked him to test drive the 2SS, he had the audacity to say he would have to do a credit check and an agreement that we would buy the car. Needless to say, he lost not one, but TWO customers that day. We both are going to buy Camaros next weekend.

We are very excited for you guys to get your Camaros! Which trim level are going for? Please post pictures and your delivery story once you get them!

You gotta be kidding. A thread about folks who did't do their homework before they spent 25 to 40K on a car? Honestly its caveot emptor; if you're going to spend your money you really ought to go the the chevy website and build your own.

It sounds like some cases of impulse buying, for me its all about the fun of knowing exactly what I want. Too often i deal with sales folks who know far less than me. I've always bought the engine and then decide which sheet metal to surround it with in 69 (I was 15 and sacked lots of groceries, ddnt get to drive it for nearly a year) , in 79, and then again in '11. Next decision is either a ZL1 to mod the engine, or a blown atomic orange 2007 Z06.

Internet auto stuff, 17 years ago I first used Internet to research a new car purchase. Auto prices were on-line 17-18 years ago. I might be an old fart, but I have been using a home PC since 1986 (26 years). Not a new concept shopping auto prices on the web.
lolwhat? 18years ago? the internet as it is known today (www.com) didn't go live until mid 1995. barely 17years ago. dial up providers or Google didn't pop up until years later after windows95 started making home PCs popular. not to call on your story, maybe you did have access to an early provider and the mosaic browser of the early 90s and the knowledge and time needed to look up various car prices on the 28kbps internet speeds. but most of us didn't. also the 8 bit commodore64 you used in 86 wasn't exactly like the computers of today. just saying.

I got what I wanted on my trade in and I told them the VIN and which dealership had
the car I wanted and I brought my own 1.99% financing pre-approved.

He knew a bit about the cars but not like they should. But, I got it for a good bit
under invoice thanks to USAA pricing and since I did all the leg work all they had to
do was print some paperwork and arrange a driver for transfer.
