Maybe he doesn't want the insurance or 15 mpg.

A lot of V8's are overrated nowadays. Cars that come to mind are the Challenger R/T(test drove one, and raced more then a few; it feels like I am driving a Dodge Charger that debuted 8 years ago ! Just look at the steering wheel! $38k yet no keyless start, no hids, headlights dont turn, no radar cruise, no ipod connectivity, etc), Audi S5(14 mpg, almost bought one but has limp wristed torque and speed for v8), 3v 4.6 Mustang GT(15 mpg, nice but it's trap and ET are comparably to a new V6 camry), etc. The n/a 6 cylinder sports cars in the market is just as fast or faster in a straight line and faster on a track(350Z, 370Z, G37 sedan) and they carry far less weight over the front.

Do you continue to mistake this for your Nissan forum? How much does it cost to get a Nissan 370z to run 10s in the quarter? I'm willing to bet that it's far more than it costs to get an anemic 3v mustang GT to do it.

And more to my actual point, I was talking about better V8 options, like the LS3 or the new Coyote 5.0, or even the 392. All of which are better than your weedeater motors. I like imports and have owned several but please wake up and realize you just can't out torque or out power a larger motor.

With that said, I'm betting your first thought is gonna be, oh well I can turbo my leaf blower motor and make that much power. Well guess what? We can turbo/supercharge the V8 too. And make even more power, with less boost. One day when you grow up, you'll realize I'm right and your just diluted.

And no, that's not a bashing statement towards imports.

EDIT: oh and btw, my cheaper insurance goes hand in hand with my 23 mpg in my 6.2 V8. Go figure.

370Z is a lightweight sports car, it's in a different league then any v8 muscle car. Why would I supercharge my motor ? It has enough power.

This is a Camaro forum, but if you want to talk about weedeater motors, please move over to the "off-topic" discussions.

What do you expect these kids to do in the last 20 years or so? Not like muscle cars can be had on every street corner, let alone be able to afford one. The kids did nothing more then what the kids did back in the 50's and that's taking a cheap car and modding it to sound different, go faster, and piss people off with them..

Civics, Camrys, ect can be had on the cheap not just for a kids wallet but for a parents as well..

Let the kids have fun and enjoy their time with it.. No need to hate because some of them will kick your Camaros ass!!
This post speaks the truth.

Then why do you keep comparing it to every other V8 car out there?

And as for the power part, keep dreaming dude.

My car is just as fast, faster, or nearly as fast as any stock RX-7, NSX, Supra, 300ZX, 3000GT, 350Z, 370Z, Challenger R/T, Charger R/T, 300C Hemi, Mustang GT 4.6, Audi S5, B5/B6/B7 gen Audi S4, Mercedes-Benz CLK55 AMG, Pontiac G8 GT, LT1 F-body, LS1 WS6, GTO 5.7, WRX, WRX STI, Evo, MS3, MS6, E46 BMW M3. If those cars are not adequate enough speed for you, then you have some serious "racecar" issues. I don't go to the track every other day, why would I want any more power ? I mean, c'mon be realistic, I am faster then 90% of cars on the street.

It has to have torque to have torque steer, and the new 6-speed v6 has plenty of it, show me a single cam V6 with more torque then Honda's J series lineup. Please.

-Take Honda's 300 hp J35 that debuted in the 2005 Acura RL, for example, doesn't look impressive at first glance, but it had nearly the same power as the 3.6 LLT from GM(that came out 2 years later) and the VQ35HR from Nissan(which also came out 2 years later), but it's only a port injected single cam and the 3.6 has Direct injection, twin cam, higher redline, etc; the vq35hr has all of that plus dual intakes(with 2 filters, throttle body assemblies, etc.). This despite the fact the J series dates back nearly 20 years, also goes a long ways in showing Honda's efficiencies as an engine manufacturer, just imagine if it had twin cams, dual air intakes, more advanced timing, and direct injection like it's competition.

You are missing the point. This isn't a Honda forum either. Hence the CAMARO part of Camaro5. I don't car if your Accord has the most torque on any V6 ever made. It's still just a silly looking family car that is missing the back two doors (I'm assuming you are at least cool enough to own a coupe). We don't care about your accord here, nor do we want to keep hearing about it. It's just getting old.

And again, I don't hate imports. They are great cars, but some owners seem to think they are better than what they really are.

I don't even own an Accord. Hence my screen name.
