If you honestly believe that at no point in our near future nothing needs to change. Then let's hear your argument as to why. And not that freedom crap, cuz just like beauty it's in the eye of the beholder. List to me some facts that support your claims that cars don't need to be more effecient with their energy use. Otherwise you are just upset ( and rightly so) that huge gas guzzlers are under attack. Defend yourself.
You accuse me of making assumptions and then make assumptions yourself.

You're right that things change and they should change. But to change something that works for no reason is just change for the sake of change and is a waste.

I'm not defending "gas guzzlers" as you suggest. I am defending the choice to own whatever car people choose to own. If people want tiny cars I don't care if they buy them. If people want big cars, I don't care either.

If people who want tiny cars want to take big cars away from people who want them, then that's a problem.

To each his own. Live and let live.

If you want it, buy it. I like my SS the way it is. If you feel that things need to change to protect our precious resources and you bought a Camaro maybe you bought the wrong car. A Prius or Leaf might have been the better choice. Defend your decision.

It can be engaged and disengaged? So it would be a good option for long road trips.

Would you turn your Camaro into a Hybrid?

What the _ _ _ _? Are you serious? Heck no. Next question!

It's like you're completely missing the whole point.
No one is trying to take anything away from anyone. I missed the memo that said all v8 engines were outlawed or even rumors that suggested such a thing.
Efficient means to use your resources in the best manner with as little waste as possible. No where does it say to make v8 engines slow and not fun or non existent.
It means to find a way to have a high horse power car with high gas milage.
I don't think it's impossible to have a zl1 with the same power output it has right now but with better fuel consumption. For some reason people think a car has to be 15mpg to be fast. It doesn't. Hell the gt500 has 600hp and 24mpg. That's a good thing. It's way more efficient than my camaro. I have half the HP and about the same mpg.
That is what I'm talking about, doing more with less. Not doing less with less.

See above.

But I do like how you worded it as our precious resources. And why can't I have a volt or a tesla, why it gotta be an ugly ass Prius or leaf. Lol.
Effecient doesn't mean it has to be slow, small and ugly.
Slow, small and ugly is for companies that are too lazy or too dumb to figure out a better way to have more power with less fuel.
Fast cars aren't going anywhere, and I don't want to live in a world where camaro's, mustangs and other performance cars don't exist. They just need to get better at how effecient they are.

Saw a truck set up with something like this recently, was cool that there was no rotor or pads, was clean look through the tires....

I would never put this on a Camaro. It would be cool on my truck or Civic.
