I've visited this site many times and I decided to join - couldn't resist lol. I've had my Camaro 2LT/RS for about 2 months now, and the gas mileage gets better. I think the average MPG in the DIC has to be reset each time you drive, then I achieve 18-22 per city driving and 28-33 on the highway and back roads.

Almost 700 miles on it now - so far Driver Info Center shows around 16mpg. :( Granted, my husband drove it a bit while I was out of town for two weeks, and he tends to get on it even worse than I do. I haven't reset the counter yet. Plan to do so next time I fill up, and also calculate manually. Hopefully it gets better~

Here's a pic I took when I got back from a trip from Cincinnati, OH. I left Cincinnati to Saginaw, and once I hit the Flint area I was still on half a tank - I reset my average MPG in the DIC when I started the drive back from Cincinnati.

I drove from Ventura, CA to San Diego, CA under optimal conditions (not much traffic - Early morning to mid morning) and averaged 28 MPG. Then ran into bumper to bumper traffic due to an accident for about 30 minutes and it dropped to 26-27 MPG. Not bad for 300 + HP car!! A keeper for sure....

Wonder if some of these cars are just really tight. Seems like there is a big difference between a few cars.

Big differences are normal. There's a lot of conditions that vary, and of course there's driving style.

What is an acceptable difference? 3mpg . . . 5mpg . . . 10mpg? If you are unlucky to get the short end of the stick I would be dissappointed. It would drive me crazy to see the V8s getting the same gas mileage as me. I am getting the V6 so I do better. All things equal then we would all get V8s.
