GM is "government-owned" because the govt is a majority shareholder. This is very different from GM being a govt agency, or some entity created by federal statute.

There's a big difference. At a technical, legal level, it should make no difference that the govt is a majority shareholder, because all the immunity doctrines that usually apply to government actors would not apply here.

Now, practically speaking, if the franchisees made some claim in bankruptcy court, the fact that the govt is the majority shareholder may make a real difference in how the court acts towards those franchisees' claims. But there'd still have to be some legitimate, bankruptcy-related reason for it, not simply "guys who ordered first want their cars first".

No, the government itself is fighting to keep the bad dealers in business. Please read: http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20090603/...rs_testimony_5

I'm getting very tired of repeating myself.

I want my Camaro, not the Challenger, but I don’t want to deal with a company that doesn’t give a crap about their customers.
We've seen and heard of signed contracts violated in this R6P fiasco so don't feel bad. Even read about a guy getting screwed and his sister worked for the dealership...but I bet CEO Mr. Fritz Henderson paid MSRP or less for his Camaro- maybe give him a shout and ask him how.

Time out....

A 1SS goes for what....$30,995? Add in the destination charge and polished wheels.
.....IF that is all you ordered.

Added up, that equals roughly $32,250. Now...add in taxes and let's see...

= 34,265.

So, you are off $1,435ish...somehow. Ask them to put it down on paper and figure it out. Ask how they are upcharging you and mention that this is up for all to see, etc. But, tell them to knock it off...I have been pushing people to them too...since Ancira has been screwing everyone over and I'd hate to give them a bad name too...

Forget bout it---- It sounds like it's now the principal of hiking the price on you --
Go with Cavender Chevrolet in Boerne and ask to speak with Dennis Steward -- Tell him AJ sent you --I got free car washes for a year and they accepted all discounts that I qualified for ( R6p--Credit Union--).

If you are willing to let the dealer wash and ruin your car for a year and you really think that is a benefit........:face palm:
If you dont know better than that you really should be driving a Volvo!

And the dealer handling and prep charge could be another 500 bucks. Sit down with them and see it all in writing.

I didn't think $34k was that far off. Taxes alone are close to $3k. Sounds like from several posters that the dealer is fairly reputable.

I hate to say it but what really causes these problems is crazy people who are willing to pay over sticker price to begin with. I know some can afford it and it's a free market but these pricks who are jerking people around on cars they ordered months ago should have their franchises cancelled!!!!
