I drilled my orifice today! I can see how it gets clogged, the holes were small to begin with.

Drove the car around for about 15 minutes or so and my oil pressure is at 30-34 at crusing speeds of 35-55mph. At acceleration it does go up, and at WOT it does get into the peak 70 mark. Is this ok?

I put the RX oil breather back on and plugged the hole where the oem pcv drivers side tube is coming from (what is that called again?).

I think I am having the same problem, any suggestion?

Hi Guys,

I have been wondering around the forum and a fellow member shared me the link to this thread.

I have found oil in my engine bay as well. A reply from a my thread said could be a blockage within the PCV system. I will be honest, I dont know much about car engine, pcv, etc. but if someone can explain to me a little, I can figure it out.

May I know if I am sharing the same problem with you guys?... You may look at the pictures. It's grainy iphone pic but you can get the idea.

I hope someone can help me with this problem.

BTW, I live in the Macau and Camaro's are "import only" cars here. We have no Chevy dealership and/or service center. So, I have to depend on myself when doing simple maintaince and trying to avoid local autoshops as they would charge me more for the reason that the car is not common (at least in where i live).

Here's the link to my original thread http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=258759

Thank you so much.

Vincent

No that would be the wrong side, look on the passenger rear valve cover, the orifice fitting is there with a hose attached. Remove it and check for a clog, clean the metal orifice out with carb spray.

Removed mine and it is clean, throttle plate is clean and dry also.
Must have broken my engine in right as it is not breathing much oil past the rings. Didn't want to drill the orifice holes out 7/64 so I just did the next drill size under that. I'll monitor it at the next oil change and see how it goes.

Where are you getting the idea of plugging the drivers side tube? Sounds like trouble to me.

If you have the breather drivers side tube NEEDS to be removed and plugged.

Vicent,

Your leak is at the other end of the PVC line so yes there could be a chance you orifice (or whatever is called) is clogged, creating a backup.

Anyone have the part number of this barb? I would like to get a spare unaltered to swap out if I need to take it in for warranty work.

I thought of the same thing, seems like any parts store should have it but I can't seem to find it. Maybe have to call the dealer parts dept.
Hope this doesn't cause more oil usage.

I am just going to use the OEM oil cap and put this breather on for shows.

I don't blame you, no one has produced a service bulletin yet which leads you
to believe its a problem with THEIR breather setup.

Actually, there are others who have leaks on the factory clean side - those not even running a breather.

This leak is not due to the breather.
