Hey u guys with this issue, how many miles did you have when you noticed it. Kinda wondering how much time we all have before this hits us.

just checked mine and at 16500 miles i see a few strands in the left tip on the right muffler. as of now it just looks like a few threads of hair and its not sticking out enough to grab any. i will try and blow them out some more so i can reach them or at least show the dealer.

I noticed mine doing the same thing the other day 7,000 miles 1 track day manual. I'm sure the dealer will be cool with fixing it though. Hopefully!

I really do not understand why some of you are so worried about the cosmetics regarding this? Is the car suddenly making too much noise? Wife complaining about it? So take it to the dealer have them replace the whole exhaust system with a new one. I believe that dealers don't exchange mufflers only. Will you return again if the new replacement mufflers in the new exhaust system does the same? It's a supercharged engine it's going to produce heat traveling thru the mufflers especially running the car hard. It's your peace of mind you are dealing with so do what you have to do to make it right.

Cosmetics? Who cares about the cosmetics. The fact that now several people are reporting thier mufflers/baffles are coming apart with such low mileage seems like a concern to me??? Mine failed smog because of this, yes they did order a complete new exhaust, but is this going to be a recurring problem?

As mentioned before it's the muffler packing unraveling. Certainly not a major issue; but it shouldn't happen on ultra low mile cars. A similar thing happened on my TB SS where the fiberglass packing of the resonator came out around 100k miles. It actually sounds better.

Hmmm, wondering if this will be an issue on the SS with the dual mode as well since the exhaust is essentially the same.

I just bought my dual mode catback and went out and inspected it. I have probably 600 miles on mine so far. Everything is fine. I doubt my SS moves enough air to push the packing out
