My phone fits perfectly above the clusters and below my radio thing.. and I actually keep an eye on them while racing.

I looked and test drove so many cars before buying mine....if they did not have the console gauges..no deal no way. They were part of the original 68-69 SS or Z28 camaros and I had to have them. I will not move the car until all gauges are at least close to warm up, I have alway thought it is not good to drive any vehicle until all liquids are good. When I had my 75 yellow camaro (I still think I was the original bumble bee designer as I put black hood and trunk stripes on her) the car did not have many options. Back in the day Chevy saved some money buy putting lights that would turn on if anything drastic would occur with the motor. They were called "idiot lights" because the typical drivers would never pay attention to real gauges and cause damage too there cars unless a big red bright light would get there attention and hopefully they would shut the motor off and pull over. I will not deal with idiot lights or digital gauges for that matter.

As a new 2013 Camaro owner, I'm looking for any advice on the downside of revving the engine before the car has time to warm up. The entrance to the freeway is a half mile from my driveway, and I love getting up to 75 in 3rd gear when there's no one in front of me taking their time getting up to speed on the entrance ramp. It's this adrenaline rush every morning that makes me love my car every single day! Am I setting myself up for some trouble with the car by making it work hard before it might be ready? I'm planning on driving my car as many winter days as I can, so with our below freezing 3 months of the year ahead of me in Cleveland, I'd like to be forewarned on my driving habits if it's necessary.

Mines coffee at 4am in the morning when I go to work, but hey different strokes for different folks.

In all seriousness, I myself am about a 1/2 mile away from the highway ramp, and I usually do not get on it for a few miles. I also warm my car up before I go to work at least 10 minutes(gotta love auto start!).

I have a 2SS/RS and a 2LS. While the gauges look cool I would gladly get rid of them for the extra storage. As was said earlier if I have drinks in the cup holders (capped bottles of course) I have nowhere to put my phone.

That's why I like the Bluetooth on ours. I keep my phone in my pocket and it all works through the radio. No problems with storage then.

reading glasses fit perfectly in front set, check oil and volts, temps on oils straight up, glasses in slot time to go.

I look at them for function...but I really think they look cool! So do my passengers. Just my preference to get them. Like I said in another thread, it's all in what you want in your car. I wanted it all!

I'm probably just repeating other people, but to answer your question in my own words... I love my gauge cluster. The biggest benefit is just the retro look of them. I'm very used to seeing them, but when someone gets in my car, they first thing they comment on is the gauges. Also they are functional. I mainly look at the oil temp. I try not to "step on it" until the oil temp is at least close to normal temp. As for the other gauges, all I can really say is besides looking cool, I would notice if one of them was "off", therefore, they are worth having.
