This may be of interest to some of you folks. I am an IT technician by trade and after 3 days of fusing with our new Camaro here is what I found out. Any USB drive will work as long as you format it in FAT 32 format and if you use WMA via Windows Media player it must be the WMA standard. WMA pro or WMA lossless will not play in the camaro as the files are to large. I took a small seagate 320 USB Hard Drive, reformated it to FAT 32 plugged it in and it indexed 2500 songs in less than 15 seconds. I am pretty sure the trick for ANY USB storage device is the underlying file format i.e. FAT32. If you are haveing problems getting your USB storage device to work reformat it in the comand box using these perimeters: format /F:FAT32 X: The x is the letter assigned to the drive you want to format when it is plugged into your PC. Hope this helps you guys haveing trouble.

I use a SanDisk 16GB Cruzer USB 2.0 Flash Drive for my Camaro, it currently has 3127 Mp3 songs on it. I listen to about 40 of them. LOL. If it is indexing and the bluetooth connects to my phone it stops and you have to reboot it, that is the only glitch so far.

The format of the drive to FAT32 is required regardless of the format your music is in. Most USB drives are already FAT32 unless they were reformatted to something else (NTFS for example). You can search the help on your particular computer for "format disk" and you should see something about formatting a drive to FAT32.

BE CAREFUL when formatting - if you choose the wrong drive to format you can wipe out your computer.

Most USB drives come formatted FAT32, but some of them have extra stuff that prevents it from being recognized properly (I think it's called U3). Not sure if that affects the Camaro since I don't have mine yet but I have seen it cause issues with other things.
