I don't know but I haven't heard of any LFX timing chain failures either. I'll do some research and let you know what I find.

Ok thanks. I've heard of it on the LLT but never the LFX, so I'm assuming that they fixed it.

And what does the fact that Toyota is the most recalled car for the last few years say about their quality? http://m.nbcnews.com/business/toyota...ears-1C6374378
i guess I can see how it would sound that way, but I don't expect it to give me a problem. it's just been a long time since I've had a vehicle where I've evne had to think about it

yes, but those recalls are very minor. most of the time they involve stuff like lights and such. but yes, honda's get recalled constantly.

I would love to know that too. I thought I'd heard it was, but GM hasn't really addressed the issue publicly. at least not that I know of. I though the LFX was pretty much the LLT with just a couple minor changes.

I have been searching the web and so far all I can find is LLTs with the problem. I even looked at other car forums on cars that are using the same engines. The LLT failures seem to happen a lot (but as we found out with convertible problems more people will post about problems than those that have no problems. Probably due to the fact when someone has a particular problem they go on the net to see if anyone else has the problem so it seems more widespread than it is) but there are also some I saw with close to 100,000 miles and no problems. But not one mention of anyone with an LFX with the problem. Maybe because they haven't been out long enough yet. There was several mentions of the LFX possibly having a different design timing chain and cover.
I hope that they have fixed the problem but we may just have to take a wait and see for another year. Then if we hear of little or no problems I would think it was fixed.

Okay. Thanks for researching it!

Makes me glad I got mine. She's not a 2010, but the only issues I've had were from outside forces that GM wold have been able to foresee. The wife loves it, and after I showed her this it made her quip that she might trade or Equinox in for one. (That would never happen though)

Had mine since February 2010, so 3 years this month, 35k miles and I am 19 so you know I drive her hard. Only problem I've had is I broke my power steering hose got pinched or cut, which I am pretty sure is because I was drifting a little too hard I haven't seen anybody have that problem . Other than that runs like a dream, just wish I could afford more mods for it

Good to hear I really haven't had any issues with my 2010 2SS/RS either

Glad to hear this for the 2010's but don't expect the same for 2011 if they factor in the convertible issues...

It will be a good indicator of how widespread the convertible problems are or are not.

No some 12's too, too early to know about 13's yet. But my 12 has not had them.
