No luck, spent an hour doing this today. Just happened to be right between two cameras.

Luckily I found out my deductible for hit and run is only $250 and they won't raise my rates (yet). Dealership gave me an estimate of $600 and said they could have it done by this Friday. Getting a second opinion but hopefully it will be fixed by the weekend just in time to go see Transformers 2.

Ugh, I had this happen to me in my 2003 Cobra. I had parked at a Whataburger, and this guy backed into my car while I was inside eating. Someone in the drive thru saw it and told the person inside about it, then they annouced it over the speaker. Thankfully, I ran outside fast enough to see him driving off. When he saw a bunch of people run out, he then swiftly turned around and pulled into a parking spot. He didn't have insurance on him, so we waited for 2 hours while his wife drove up to there to give him his insurance. He kept asking, can I just give you my number, and give you the info later. I was like, hell no you were driving off.

In Texas, 1 out of every 3 drivers on the road is uninsured...That number is staggering because of the amount of illegal immigrants...I agree with your second statement, but this is an answer to your first, illegal immigrants could/may have alot to do with it.

Something similar happened to my wife a few years back, she had a fairly new car (her first) and some $hit stain backed into her at a stop light and took off. She got the plate and description and gave it to the cops who offered little hope to my wife that they would actually spend any time trying to track down the guy. Anyway, to make a long story short, the prick ended up living in the same apartment complex as we did and my wife saw his truck parked a couple days after he hit her. She called the cops, they came out and arrested the guy for hit and run and no insurance. He ended up agreeing to pay for my wife's damages in cash, plus rental car in exchange for less jail time.

You never know when you might just get lucky....
Glad to hear she got him that is so pathetic that people would do that .. Way to go!

Actually I put part of the hit and run blame on insurance companies. After these people have hit your car their first thought is probably "Oh my god, my insurance rate`s are going to go WAY up!" Considering what some companies charge for a first time chargeable accident I can sort of understand why someone might want to haul butt out of there after an accident.

If insurance were to give a "first time" pass for minor scrapes and dings we might find more "I`m sorry, here is my information" note`s on our windshields.

Great point. Accidentals under $500 shouldn't hurt your rates.

Sorry about your car, that really sucks.

NO, it`s probably about to get a "Thread Lock"!

You people are getting dangerously close to a hot button political argument and I didn`t join this forum to watch people rip into each other over different views of immigration. Go find a forum that caters to political debate and have at it.

In a world where the right and left can`t agree or find common ground, we at least have something we, regardless of political views, can agree on this one thing "WE LOVE THE NEW CAMARO...... PERIOD."
