cats are only for emissions and smell. if you dont like the raw gas smell. then have them. if you dont care then dont run with them. simple

I don't believe they are pointless. Most data seems to show gains with removing the stock cats , and going to aftermarket hi flow cats. It is however ,like most things difficult to get an exact amount of increase. Listening to members on here and vendors too, plus the makers of the cats, you get different results. But one thing to think about is the hi flow cats have just one versus two cats in each pipe. And if you look at them , they are practically straight through pipes. Also I saw someone post that the inside diameter goes down to 2.25 . Not sure if that is a definite thing though. Anyone else heard of that? Or cut one apart to look?

Going with a cat delete does cost less but the biggest draw back for street driven cars in my opinion is the smell of running without cats. Others are the potential legal issues and the inability to pass emissions testing and inspections. For track cars none of these are a concern so save the money and apply it elsewhere but if your car is used primarily on the street high flow cats are probably your best bet.

Exactly what I was told by 2 speed shops here. Its how you drive that determines HF cat life...if you track your car often or WOT the car all the time, chances are youll fry them from the additional heat. My conversation centered around an already F/I car as well.

Yeesh....and dont do muffler deletes - reminds me of people who pull them off a Honda to make it sound "faster". Embarrassing.
