You guys have got me all paranoid!! nothing like hard sell, just give me stories about tampons/sugar/syrup in the fuel tank!!!! OMG!!!!!! Not taking any chances!!!

Amazon.com wants $22USD to ship to canada. What a freaking rip off!!
So I bought the Stant 11504/10504 off ebay for about $26 including shipping etc.

It really makes me mad why there is such a bullsh1t amount of shipping cost to ship to a neighbouring country. Its absurd almost!

I had motor oil poured into my tank. $650 to drop the tank, scrub it, change all the hoses and seals. Luckily it didn't damage the fuel pump.

Ehhh... just easier to buy the $10-15 locking gas cap. Done. The Stant 10504 seems up to par. No errors on mine.

put the Stant 11504 on today. Fits sung, locks tight, looks higher quality than the factory cap. No errors, check engine light, codes...nuthin'.

*recommended*

Ok, I see 2 numbers now for Stant locking gas caps in this thread now, 10504 and 11504, so which one fits the 6.2 SS cars ?? Stant website shows no locking caps available for the 2010 Camaro. How did you know the 10504 or 11504 would fit ??
Ed.

Ed, I'm pretty sure you're good with either one. I have an 2SS, and I can personally vouch for the 11504...works perfect on my car.

The local Advanced Auto computer system now shows the Stant 11504 for the Camaro. In stock and works fine.

Has anyone tried this? If so, in your opinion would it keep pranksters from inserting materials into the gas tank, and is it compatible with the Camaro?

This looks like the opposite of a locking gas cap.

I would only do this if I had the locking door.

has anyone installed the chrome or polished GM locking cap? Just curious if it is a slide and go or if any drilling is required.

I seriously want one of these for my Camaro before I take her out again. Too many unsavory types out there that I don't trust not to do something to my new ride. The 11504 seems to have a threadless part that goes into the socket, whereas the 10504 seems to be threaded. Wouldn't that produce a better seal overall? I want to get the one that is the best fit for my car. Which one is the better fit for the Camaro?

I had a Chrysler Crossfire and didn't realize it had a "stealth" locking fuel filler door until I went to sell it.

It's so ingenious -- the fuel filler door LOCKS WHENEVER YOU LOCK THE CAR DOORS.

I had the car locked and was showing a potential buyer how the gas door opens -- it wouldn't open! That's when I realized the fuel filler door locks automatically, and unlocks when you unlock the doors with the key fob.

Genius!

On my 'maro, I use the Defenderworks black locking fuel filler door with little rivets glued on for looks.
