You'll want to get the DA as low as possible, and being in NY (i'm from western, NY), the tracks always close way too early for us to take advantage of the great air. Me and some friends head out to Cecil dragway in Maryland in November looking for personal bests. You'll run .2-.3 quicker there than you will in NY in the fall. The tracks elevation is 300ft above and the air can typically be 40-55 degrees, which will net you DA from as high as 500ft to as low as -1500ft. Sometimes lower if the conditions are ripe. The second thing is the gearing. To go 12.99 you'll be running roughly 103-104mph. You'll want to gear it so that it is near peak rpm in 1:1 at that mph. A rear axle ratio swap will most likely be mandantory, but you can also tweak it with slightly smaller tires, but I don't know what size rims you can fit with V-6 rear brakes.
I agree with the tracks not being open long enough up here. Last year however though I was able to go to ESTA in Cicero and ran in about -500DA so it is possible in my area to do it. I am hoping at the end of Oct. the DA will be in the negatives but we will see.

Yes. What is itb?

Also, the stroker kit for the camaro would be interesting. Curious as to how that's coming along as well. Last I heard it was going to be a 4.2

It stands for Independent Throttle Body also called Stacks/ Velocity stacks. It's basically having a Throttle Body for every valve, one benefit is having a very responsive throttle response. It can handle a more aggressive cam setup too.

I think that stroker kit was all talk. Every once in awhile it gets mentioned but don't think anyone is actively making one

Anyone read the Camaro Now article in the new issue on the Hillbank Mortorsports LLT build? The title is Irvine Pony Slayer. It is supposed to be 435 RWHP. If so thoughts?

You can have your cams ground. just send them in to a manufactor who does these things, very expensive. and you'll have to do with them for a while. I drive Crower every day.

Ruby, I read the article. Sounds like an AWESOME build. However, nothing to do with this N/A thread. Would love to see them post a time slip too. One of our Detroit 5th Gen club members has the IPF set-up and headers. He has run a 12.8 @ 110 and it is posted and documented in the V6 1/4 mile thread.

The only company that attempted cams for the LLT is MACE. But right now it is more or less still in R&D since it is so hard to tune. Also not sure if the grind was 100%. Sadly not a cheap mod since there are 4 cams total lol not to mention the cost of labor.

Which is why I cannot see this as a mod worth the bang for the buck.

For the cost, I would rather drop an SS rear end in (or 1LE) and change gears to a 3.73 at a minimum.

I'm not positive the cams are worth it or not either, but we should (hopefully) know more of their true potential once the member here with the LFX V6 gets his done. He said he paid $500 for his cams from MACE, but even if that is true, the cost of a tune and installation would be much more than that. If his grind profile is good, and they get the tune down it will be interesting to see. Just a bit depressing for us LLT folks who don't have the same ease of access for tuning.
