Not really. Some are BS but i have gotten 24-25 mpg by calculating with actual math. DIC said 27. You have a 1LE so it will won't get as good milage due to your gearing or how hard you drive it.

EDIT: And anything more than 14.5 in the city at whatever time of the day is just sad and I certainly wouldn't admit to it.
If you want to really get kewl bad mileage, just idle the car for 10 hours in your driveway

some people don't feel the need to act like a teen ager when driving though town so we get good gas mileage.
From what iv seen the 6.2l gets better mileage than advertised. My 6.2l 12 Silverado 4x4 got 15-20mpg.
The 6.2l has so much power that it doesn't have to work to just get you from point a to b.

I have owned three fifth gens... one llt and two LS3's. I do not drive super aggressively or grandmaish... I think I represent the typical SS owner...

1. We CAN NOT get over 23 MPG with all highway driving @ or over 70MPH in an SS and anyone who says they do is full of it... IMHO

2. When I say all city driving, that is what I mean. 20mph neighborhood streets 40 mph double lane "highways" school zones stop signs and traffic signals.

3. The very best mileage I have ever gotten was driving 50 in 6th gear on a scenic highway (trace) and that was 28 if memory serves me right.

So you're the representative SS owner and you got 28 mpg highway?

1 Fill tank
2 Write down miles on odometer.
3 Drive till tank is almost empty then fill up again.

5 Subtract miles from step 2 from miles on step 4.
6 Divide result by gallons pumped. This is as close as you're going to get.

You're welcome
Couldn't you just set a trip meter? You're welcome.
