My rate just went up 45% with no accidents or tickets. And they are still the cheapest. I guess lo jack doesn't help your insurance that much so they just jacked it up crazy high!

Couple Lojac with a motion detector and your car if theft proof !
LoJack does not make your car theft proof and can be beaten fairly easily and the motion detector isn't even worth mentioning.

You lock your car to keep honest people honest. If a bad guy wants it, he'll find a way to get it. I don't care what you have on it.

I saw that article, very interesting.. Except from what I've been told it's difficult to steal these cars. I also saw that Halloween is when most people vandalize cars so keep em safe!!

Sheesh...

Compare the numbers to the rest of the sales fleet foreign AND domestic and what do you get?

I'll get back to that...

What these "numbers" show?

The atypical ratios of sales of the Camaro, Challenger and Mustang. You sell 15 Camaros to 1 Challenger, that will be a rough ratio.

Now lets take into consideration the geographic location.

This information is hogwash. Why? It takes into account ONLY Challenger, Mustang and Camaro. Any mediocre number cruncher could conclude that with a 15-1 ratio, more Camaros would be stolen.

Is this news?

What about the Honda Accord? Jeep Grand Cherokee?

100 Camaros and 15 Challengers and 55 Mustangs...this is what this post is about.

Considering the mods have been posting daily (at first) production numbers, then monthly since April 2009, is this really unexpected? The numbers shown within these very forums explicitly confirm common sense.

The ONLY reason why Challengers are stolen at a higher ratio versus sales is that most of the Challenger thefts originate in Detroit...and you have a much higher rate of Chrysler workers within the Detroit area...

And add the fact Chrysler has a shitty anti theft system...what do you expect?

Saw a Camaro on the back of a tow truck leaving Boston with the Alarm SCREAMING. Nobody seemed to care. Didn't notice if the fin was knocked off.

Should I pay my insurance for the next six months right now before they decide to raise it? These articles never look at the ratio of cars stolen to the number of cars on the road. If you look at any list of the most stolen cars it tracks very closely to the list of top selling cars. I feel that would be a much better indicator of the likeliness of a car getting stolen. Just because more F150s were stolen than Vipers sold doesn't mean the F150 has a higher chance of being stolen as an example.
