My 2012 is a daily driver, I put about 38,000 miles a year on it, so yes I will be buying a new gen because mine will be wore out with well over 120,000 miles on it, not worth keeping with that many miles IMO.

the third generation lasted 10 years (1982 - 1992)

the forth generation lasted 9 years (1993 - 2002)


by GMs math the 5h Gen should last at least 4 more years..


Corvette's history is just as bad:

1st gen 9 years
2nd gen 4 years
3rd gen 14 years
4th gen 12 years
5th gen 7 years
6th gen 8 years.


no real consistency in the length of time between the generations, but overall GM has a history of averaging about 9 years between generation changes

the 5th gen too me just looks outdated already, I'm hoping the 6th gen comes out swinging (weight loss, killer looks and a more powerful lt1) because Ford is bringing the mustang into the 21st century with power and irs.

I fell in love with the 5g ever since it came out. This is my dream car. I will definitely keep her forever, if the the 6g looks just as good as this one and if a similar color like aqua blue metallic comes out, then I will possibly get a SS and still keep my current one.
