OK, so either your husband keeps his gun in his crotch while he's driving around -or- it was already concealed and he removed it from concealment to hand it to you. Then you get a door ding and it's suddenly in your hand. Then you snap too and realize you almost went postal and wrap the gun in a towel to not scare the lady.

The short answer to your question is: yes, you are crazy. And if your husband is holding the gun in his lap while you're driving around- he's crazier.

I'm very pro-2nd amendment- I hope the anti-gun lobby never reads this. Sorry to be harsh.
he doesn't drive with it out of the holster. he keeps it in the door pocket on the car in the holster. He thinks if someone does try any thing then I wont have to mess with getting is out of the hoster. I think it is a 357 snub nose. very scary gun to me. I would rather just have one of the Keltec small hand guns that he got me, but he likes this one. I drive to little rock 2 times a week he wants me to start takeing a gun with me but I have yet to agree to do so.

By the way there is a very long hard triger on this gun. I dont think there is a safty thats why the triger is designed that way. and you don't have to cock it back to shoot its ready to go. So its not like its going off without a lot of force put on the triger.

no offense to you tanabarley but quite honestly, i am more scared of being shot by crazy people like you for a stupid accident than i am of being robbed by gang members or so.

having a gun on your lap at a gas station and almost snapping because somebody accidentally hit your car... i still can't get over it.

For the gun haters, this scenario is way above their heads b/c nothing could EVER, EVER happen this way to them or their loved ones. After all, we live in such a perfect world where there is no crime and no current recession.......or maybe they just blend in a little better than most and don't have to worry about nothing.

Scenario...

Brand new car that obviously says 'got some money'...
Helpless little lady sitting idle in the front seat says 'easy pickins'
A little love tap on the bumper or door ding says 'I want you to come on out and be my next victim'

If this scenario were to happen to anyone, would you automatically KNOW what is gonna happen next? Would you know the other person soooo well that you would NEVER suspect them to do you more harm than just a little door ding? Of course not stupid! You might hope and pray that things are going to turn out to be an accident and you can go on your merry way, but WHAT IF......................what if this was no accident?

Would you feel safer holding that cell phone to call for help or holding that gun (that was never produced BTW). I'll take the gun anyday of the week.

And if you are ever a victim of crime or worse yet...violence, you probably have to lay some blame on yourself....for what you ask....for NOT being prepared.

You should also hope that there is someone around like tanabarley that might have a gun to help you out....otherwise......the police will be there in about 5 minutes.

Well said. I often wonder if all these people that say they have no need for a gun and don't see the need for anyone else. I guess they have never had a friend or family member ever get attacked. I hope it stays that way. However, there are attacks daily and a firearm can give you the opportunity to survive it.

Do you have a fire extinguisher(sp) at home? Locks on the door? An alarm on the house, a dog to bark. Each of us have a line for our tools of safety. I have each of the items listed above. As well as a firearm, never used it for protection. Also, never used the alarm or the fire extinguisher(sp). But, I am not getting rid of either of them.
You just never know.

I'm pretty sure that killing someone for dinging your new Camaro is only a misdemeanor crime in most states as long as your judge is a car lover.

be careful... stuff like that you don't need the gun from the get go. you'll need it if your life is in danger only... you can handle most things w/o the gun. its only for situations of no return... if it becomes it it becomes it, but if it isn't then just try and relax; you will do yourself a favor imo.

Ding ding ding. Its only about being properly prepared to deal with any situation as needed.

My wife and I live in a very safe area, but I still carry my pistol everywhere we go (except work, the US Army doesn't like CCW on base) on the off chance some gang banging ghetto rat happens to be "off reservation" because no, virginia, the ghettos are not like Hitler's ghettos with walls around them.

My wife actually made fun of me the first couple weeks I carried till I asked her if she felt more or less secure knowing I was armed and able to defend us should the need arise. She hasn't made fun again since she thought about it and gave me a very contrite answer of "more secure"

I was lucky, my wife caught the bonehead that was about to cream her door while I was in a store. She told him maybe he shouldn't hit our car since my husband really hates jail food.... he gave a blank stare and drove off. Uncaring people SUCK!!
PS she had her .25 in her boot but didn't go there.
