Not if you want it to compare favorable against those cars in that eschelon, in a content and ride quality pov, anyway. Those of us who are more performance minded wouldn't care if NVH is out of control as long as it's amazingly fast, but those "non-enthusiasts" who buy in that market tend to look at that sort of thing and GM needs to keep the vehicle somewhat civil or they'll end up in the position Dodge did with Viper, a great car, but no manners vs other cars in its market.
I agree. I prefer the cars I drive to have a little character. My first car was my 70 Chevelle and it was loud, smelled like exhaust, vibrated and rumbled from the engine and I loved it but no one else did.

More carbon perhaps? That would be pretty cool. I hope to see some carbon fiber in the 6th gen Camaro. The more carbon fiber is used the cheaper it will become

Carbon Fiber? Windows? Wheels? Driveshaft? Axles?

Look at it this way. The LT-1 is supposed to weigh about 20 lbs more than the LS3 in the base C6. The LT-4 is supposed to weigh the same as the LS9, which was ~110 lbs more than the LS3. So, just adding the LT-4 to the Stingray would make the weight go up to 3408. Of course that is not all the weight that would have to be added, but they did something on the C6 Z06 and ZR1 to not just give it more power and a better suspension, they did something to reduce weight as well...ESPECIALLY on the Z06. Do you not think they are going to use every trick they can to keep the weight as low as possible? Are they going to give the C7 Z06 more power than the C6 ZR1, then negate that by making it weight more than a C6 ZR1???

So, let me throw it back at you. Where is all the extra weight to make it over 3400 coming from?

The Z06 and ZR1 saved weight from the aluminum chassis. That was a huge chunk the C7 will not get back. That adds 100 lbs to it already. Then throw in the added structural reinforcement to support an additional 50 lbs of torque over the ZR1. I know the torque tube is carbon fiber instead of steel so there is a decent weight drop. The C7 already has carbon hood, roof and trunk panel. The floor is already carbon fiber. The body panels are already made of a lightened composite material. The engine cradle is already hollow cast aluminum to save weight.

So you take the Stingray, which already has a lot of weight saving tricks done to it, add in a heavier engine, beefed up chassis, more cooling capacity and larger wheels and tires and I don't see how much weight can be taken out.

I very well can be wrong. I highly doubt GM isn't working hard to shave weight were it can be taken out.

Forget horsepower. Give me great power to weight ratios.

Nevermind, it's a list of engines not vehicles. Point conceded.

Z06 weight savings, FOR SURE, will include forged aluminum wheels NOT found on the Base Vette. 10 lb/corner, minimum, right off the bat. Possibly non-run-flats. Z07 option will include carbon-ceramic brakes. Sub-3,400 is far from impossible.

Keep in mind, there are those who STILL think the '15 Mustang GT will be 34-and-small-change! 'Ludes for those dudes.
