Enforcing the right laws is great. The amount of money those speeding tickets bring into the governments purported empty coffers, is even greater.

Speed does not kill. Last time I checked the autobahn was the safest highway in the world. What kills is people being too cheap to keep tires and brakes on their cars, bulbs in their headlights and brake lights, etc. what kills is people being behind the wheel drunk or high.

And what kills even more than that is people not paying 100% attention to the responsibility that is driving a car.

That being said if you speed you are breaking the law and if you get a ticket don't fn whine about it.

Got one last month for 93 in a 65 :(

Sure the exhaust may have something to do with it, but I'd say a red Camaro is going to draw more attention than a grey one. Let's be honest, it's more eye-catching and probably looks like it is moving faster
Then that cop is an idiot. Every cop I have ever talked to doesn't give a shit what color your car is, or what type of car you drive.

The only reason I can see a cop referencing your stripes in court is to attach your car to multiple complaints of a black camaro with red stripes.

Cops are aways discriminating against me, 4 years of owning two different 5th Gens a total of 50,000 miles driving them and I haven't been stopped one time so I could come on here and tell everyone how badly the cops treated me.

That's probably why I won I was on the freeway in the slow lane going the speed limit, so I wouldn't think anyone was complaining about me being obnoxious or whatnot (pulled over for passing an officer for passing him 'too quickly' while he had his lights on in the shoulder). I'm not sure, but I think the discrimination is out there, not as strong as it may be, but I still think it influences some officer's decisions one time or another.

And speed.

Regardless of what you want to think if you aren't named Andretti or Earnhardt you aren't prepared to drive in the left lane of the autobahn. If you haven't done it you can't compare.

First the Autobahn is left lane ONLY
Second it is only in stretches of highway not near populated areas
Third, as I understand it, improper lane usage in and or out of the left lane is about the same as attempted murder. (might be and exaggeration there)

Driving at speeds over 75 will tax most drivers. Maybe not you but most people don't have the reaction time, training or cars required to drive that fast. Sorry, but that is just fact.

Don't make the rules based on the fact that you carry an SCCA license.

What's your experience with driving in the USA? I wouldn't comment on how things work regarding traffic enforcement in France, since I never have driven there.

I'm interested in a few things you posted. I've commented in red below

I cannot see how your observation even translates to another city in Europe, let alone the USA.

3. I hate to see police begging for more taxes by spying your speed on the road while murderers, rapers and burglars are doing evil few miles away
The police here do not "beg for more taxes". In addition, "The Police" don't all have the same job. A detective's job is different from a Patrolman's job, and a Highway patrol Officer's job is different from a Sheriff's Deputy. "They" are not "letting rapists get away" because you got a speeding ticket. That's an asinine assumption.

4. I hate the "they just do their job" thing. Doing your job is more than blindly apply what the big boss said
It sounds like you are biased against the Police. When I break the law and get caught, it's my fault, not the fault of the Police. That is called taking repsonsibility for your actions.

5. 65 on a highway ... damn, here in France is 80mph on the highway and it's already boring .... use your vote to change these stupid politics applying such low speed limits ...
While you are 100% correct that it is politics that mandated speed limits, the speed limits in the USA actually vary. The USA is not run the way other countries are.

6. Anyway, for sure, when looking at 2 cars going the same speed, the relatively low paid police officer will most of the time aim the "rich" guy car with a sporty one. We all know "rich" guys with sporty cars are the most dangerous ....
Again, you seem to assume ill intent because that's what you want to see.

That's just what I'm seeing.

The Autobhan is not all speed unrestricted, either.

But speed as a concept does not kill. If it were true, the countryside would be littered with the rotting corpses of fighter pilots. I can cause a fatal accident at any posted speed limit.

As for the idea that the OP was pulled over and treated unfairly becasue he received a speeding violation.... You did it, you knew you did it, pay the price and learn your lesson

And, the Autobahn is 12" thick with sweeping curves and is meticulously maintained. Our roads are in terrible shape.

Your attitude and actions have ten times more importance than what you drive.
