The good news is these cars are ridiculously cheap to insure for what they are.
And, don't worry, the insurance company will only pay for a totaled V6 if the car happens (God forbid!) to get totaled. Don't worry, your rates won't go up!

I never heard anyone say it's "impossible"......Just "impractical".

Saw the donor car in the other thread last night. Really crossing my fingers for the OP that he can do this and get it working! Would really trailblaze this for others interested in the same thing.

I want OP to call his insurance and tell us what his rates go to after he does all of this. I'm pretty sure they have the ability to drop you if they want at that point. They won't quote him on an SS...why? Because of the better brakes and suspension? No...because of the engine. So if he tells them he has in theory turned his car into one they could very well drop him all together. Sadly he will badge his car SS and call it a 2SS on top of that when it really is neither at the end of the day.

Badges? They don't care about no stinkin badges! Seriously, they don't...the VIN is what they are going on. They very well might care about car power though. There is a reason that younger people pay high rates or are turned down for high HP cars. The OP was turned down for a reason. He suggest his area (implying theft I assume), but I am betting it is more about his age and / or driving record. For some reason, they feel he is too much of a risk. If I were him, just like I still do as an older 40's guy, call your agent and see what your rates are going to go to be on the new car (or in this case modification) you are thinking about. And to the guy that said there will be no loss in value on this car....you might want to rethink that. I promise I am not as interested in a car that someone I did not know has made a major modification to than one that came that way from the manufacturer. The VIN is going to tell the story.

It will most definitely hurt his resale value. This is not a 99 camaro swap. It's a new car under warranty or at least was...

Very few people will want a swapped engine on a newer car unless its some kind of monster.

Doing something like this is not about resale value. Its about swapping an engine into something most ppl say is not worth the time or that its too difficult ect.

I can totally relate as this is no longer cars of yester yr when you just take out a tranny and engine and dump another into it and drive. But Im curious to see what it costs him to do it minus buying an entire totaled car. And I'd say its a pretty interesting project.

Not to mention in a day when kids his age don't have a clue how to change their own oil, he's going to learn a lot and maybe pass that knowledge on to the next generation.

That's the truth, there is a thread on how to loosen a lug nut.

A breaker bar and a socket and if you need more leverage use a pipe on the end of the breaker bar

Kids these days are thinking: "What? And have to strain to do this? I'll just pay someone else to do that."

And then those same kids wonder why they cant save money. hahaha

Adding (for insurance purposes) kind of changes your statement doesn't it...
