I seem to remember a head2head here recently where the 1LE beat the Mustang GTPP by about 2 seconds. I don’t think there is anyone who'd say that's a win for the Camaro if it took $70K more to do it. I don’t care if the Camaro had a Porche-ish interior hand stitched by Geppetto himself. The fact is MT brought a GT3 to a Camaro fight and that is the sad state of the European sports car market. You have to settle for a hot hatch or a BMW beater if you’re not wealthy.

How did it take the Camaro $70000 more to do it?

The 1LE beat the Mustang GTPP you wrote, so you lost me there, as they are priced about the same I think?

Now had they used the Z28, which in fact is $$$$$ more than that Stang, dude it would have destroyed it! Lol

IF the 1LE cost 70k more than the GTPP (Z28 70K vs GT3 140K with a 2sec victory)

You do not agree that it is part why the GT3 is the faster car?
If so, you might want to relisten starting at 12:33

Wow, 3,300lbs with an iron block and heads. Makes we want to go get one and LSX it for AutoX and track fun with some big sticky tires.

I think there are a lot of reasons why the 911 purists despised that over bloated luxury sports cruiser called the (now gone, but not forgotten) 928.

Whomever performs better is the winner, period. (Personally hate when people throw in the "well if we added this or that...then lets see").

People are missing the point.

In the Lightning Lap this year, Ferrari was "complaining" about how well the Z/28 did and pointed to the tires. Guess what, that is how the car comes. Now, it did not beat the Ferrari, BUT, did very-very well and is respected. So again, the car community thinks quite highly of the Z/28... and price does not come into play.
Well, if we're talking about the brand, then I think the Z06 will likely take care of the GT3 as far as lap times go. That is probably a more fair comparison honestly.

The Z28 is sweet, but it isn't a GT3. The Z06 is in the same league as the GT3, but is still much cheaper. That being said, the Porsche is still what I would want between the two.

I like my Camaro... particularly on the track, but one look inside or out at it will tell you that it certainly doesn't have the fit or finish of a Porsche.

I absolutely agree that the PDK is a big part of why the GT3 is the faster car. So? Give us a Z28 with a PDK competitive transmission?
