The 2014 cars did not receive a poster or anything else. One group at the factory hid a few signed pieces in a couple of cars but they did that on their own, it was not a Chevy promotion.

On the topic of the certificate, until an executive in the performance division at GM realizes it was a mistake not to do them from the start for 2014 (like they do with the ZL1s) I doubt there will be any movement. I spent hours on the phone with their customer service folks a year ago trying to get updates on my car and they do not have any authority or information (generally nice people though).

I received my car in June 2014 with no poster. After a month of calling and asking around and finally contacting the right person. I did receive a signed poster and a letter from the plant. The advisor told me only the Canadian cars were to receive the posters yet I've heard some US cars have posters and I only know one other Canadian car which has such a poster? My GM advisor told me she contacted someone at the plant and they walked my poster down the line and left it in the lunch room for staff to sign. I have recently sent a reprint of the window sticker to the plant to have it also signed. Reprinting the window sticker after the car is sold and delivered was far more difficult than having a poster signed. My GM Canada contact advised me also they have no 2014 Z28 printing of the Certificate of Authenticity and only the 2015 will receive them.

Since there is a certificate for 2015 owners, that means somebody at Chevrolet had to not only approve issuing 2015 owners certificates, but specifically look at creating a certificate for 2014 owners, as this is the elephant in the room question: "Hey, what do we do about the 2014 Z/28 owners?" This question had to come up. And somebody had to decide . . . 2014 owners get don't get one. So this effort therefore becomes an effort to reverse a decision somebody already made.

Or no one brought up the question?

Did hear back from the Chevrolet rep today. He has been on a mission also to get clarification and bring to light our concern.

I did send, at his request, the link to this thread and pictures of the certificate. I do expect to hear back as he continues to research this issue.

Update today from Gary at the Chevrolet Customer Care Ctr.

Thanks is to this forum they have been able connect to this link for information on the 15 model certificate and view our comments. They also have escalated this to supervisor level for additional research and direction.

While this may not reverse any prior corporate decision, it could make uninformed decision makers aware that the certificate discrepancy exists for the 14 model year and realize the value of the certificate to the owners.

Thank you Gary for your persistance and follow up. It is very much appreciated.

Thanks RSZ For taking the time to inquire for the 2014 z28 owners. I would hope it was an oversight. Would think with the small production of z28 units for the 2014 year getting the owners sorted out would be in our favor. I know they have my contact information.

They did mention that other reps. had also received calls on the same topic. The more the merrier!

Having worked for Shelby American and managing the certificate program. I know it can be done. We just have to reach the right decision maker.

This is an interesting thread in a couple of respects.

The poster, that some folks rec'd, had NOTHING to do with corporate policy. As far as I can tell the Oshawa folks did this on their own, and had to be sneaky about it. Since they did this on their own initiative it was not across the board. Some folks got a signed build sheet tucked into the console while others got a signed poster. I'm sure the build team would have loved to provide this for everyone, but since they were operating in stealth mode this wasn't possible.

However, the Certificate is a corporate action. In that respect, I find it pretty hard to accept that they didn't start that program with the folks who've owned their cars the longest. If they only issue Certs for 2015 cars, it feels like an insult to owners of the 2014. I ordered mine the day after the reveal and waited for what felt like an eternity for delivery.

Please, GM -- I'm the proud owner of two 2014s. I love both and use them the way that God, Al, and Mark intended -- they are tracked regularly. I would be very pleased if you'd extend this to 2014 owners as well -- my adopted children really need their Birth Certificates!
