Secured ******** :)

Ok, pictures as promised. My ******** would bounce around a lot. And while it never came out of it's location, there would always be a gap and it would make quite a bit of noise. Well, I secured it the same way the amp insert was secured, and I also put in some LocTite seal along the top front. It hasn't budged at all

The screw was a little tough to get in, but I drilled a pilot hole while the Sub was out of it's location, then used a small angled screwdriver that worked great!

This last picture is fuzzy, but you can see the sealant (white) along the top).

Wheel & rotor update: 01/23/10

Added the new Black Chrome Wheels today as well as the new Stillen drilled/slotted rotors and painted the brake calipers.

Dirty car, sorry ;( Nothing but rain here! Will do the pads tomorrow as i didn't know how to get the darn things off! better pictures to come - still have to put the Brembo decals on (black). The calipers look red, but they are pretty bright orange. I like the looks...

First time I've had The Beast on 4 jack stands and it was a bit nerve racking to do! Worked out fine though - 4 jack stands and 2 floor jacks

Wheels scratch VERY easily ;( Discount tire scratched 3 of the 4 using their "touchless" tire tools. They will have them fixed next week.

More pics when I finish, and when I wash her ;( Supposed to rain more next week anyway.

Thanks! Put the brake pads on today: Hawk ceramics. I do NOT like the fact that the OEM (marked brembo) pads ALL have the low pad clip on them and only a SINGLE front brake on the Hawk set had them. Oh well...

Speedo & Tach bezel painting: 01/31/10

Ok, a couple of before and after shots of the Speedo/tach bezel trim painted in Black Gloss Metallic - covered in gloss clear coat:

Before:

Next is to remove the vent trim and eventually the steering wheel trim (I'm nervous about that one!). Anyone already remove the vent trim? How do you do it?

thanks!

did you just repaint and decal the OEM calipers or upgrade, Car looks sharp. How are the headers working out and are they smog legal for here in Cali. Cant wait to see car at a meet. Oh and how did you get your DRLs hooked up with your halos and reg lights

Thanks. Just repainted the calipers. Headers sound fine and look great! They are CARB certified but I've been hearing if it's not a metal plate attached to the headers, they won't allow them. All JBA gives you is a sticker to put somewhere under the hood; I'm not concerned.

There's a cool harness they are now selling for the DRLs being always on. I did the cut & solder method with the diode - there's a DIY for it. I'd go with the harness today if I had to do it again.

See this thread: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=62386

I have the JBA's also and I have the decal that came with the headers. I have had many parts that did not have a metal plate and I never had a problem with the decal. K&N gives you a decal so I figure the decal must be ok for me.

RevXtreme Catch Can installed - 02/07/10

Ok, I followed the instructions for the newer LS3 engines and installed the RevXtreme Catch Can. very easy install and I did notice oil when I removed the top connector. It looks just like Post #3 in this thread and I didn't bother taking pictures.

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=62119

One thing though I did differently was to totally remove the short squiggly OEM line and just connect the other supplied tube to the inlet. I didn't see a need to buy a short hard plastic tube to connect it up when it comes off the same way as the lower tube did.
