In the first gen' almost everything came with a V8. A guy here has a 1969 RS (Non SS) vert w/ 350. It looks and sounds awesome.

1 and 2 gens were referred to as: RS/SS. Latest gen seems to be referred to as SS/RS. Option on model designation vs model with option designation.
