Repainting looks good, but is not anywhere near the quality of factory original. How much area is repainted and where the paint is blended is always noticeable to me. I wouldn't necessarily be so eager to have them paint over MORE factory paint for a minor paint problem like that.
Exactly how I feel..............

Well, it's been touched up by the dealer... but it does not look factory fresh. Basically, where the paint was starting to shred because of the friction, it was painted over with a small brush. So, you can see where it's still shredded, it's just covered up.

To the naked eye, it looks fixed. However, if you specifically look in that spot, you can see it's not good at all.

I got a few PM's today, after my long wall of text on what I've done to resolve the issue. I'll be trying those alternative routes this afternoon.

Thank you to everyone who's sent me assistance PM's. If it wasn't for this board, I'd be wondering what to do. I really feel sorry for the average consumer on this one.

I'm not sure who dropped the ball. Could be the dealer, could be GM (regional rep). However, it was not like this when I purchased it :(

I don't have pics of before, but mine looked the same as yours on both sides. Bank's Chevy up here in Concord removed the bumper cover and repainted it. They did it the same day they put on my stripes and I picked it up the next day. The service manager took pics with his camera phone. He said he sent them to get the repair authorized. Maybe try another dealer nearby????

Verio,

Ours had that problem, there is enough documentation, on this board to show there is a problem. They painted our whole bumper cover, looks great, I was really pleased with the quality. Keep pestering them, and try another dealer. When I had my S2000, one dealer would not replace the top under warrantee, but another one 40 miles away would, so where do you think I took my future business? Now they both are screwed We have the Camaro, funny.

Ok, VERIO. You got me nervous now. I took mine to my dealer and he said he'd get GMs 'blessing' and then get to work on it. He was supposed to call me yesterday but I never got the call.

All customer service will do is call your dealer and have your dealer call YOU. I've been down that road. I didn't get any satisfaction until I was able to get a certain e=mail address to use. Point is, customer service at GM is a joke. They are very nice and polite and I guess are trained well to tell you you're not getting it fixed.

The point some of us are making is that you do need to run it up the flagpole to the next level if customer service is sub-par and you give the current level an opportunity to make good on the issue . You do this in a respectable fashion, and it will tend to work in your favor. Just my experience whether it's a car dealer or lousy service at a restaurant.

It will work more often than waiting for the current manager to see the light. Instead of calling the 800 number, maybe bringing in the top dog at the dealership will help.

Really at this point in Verio's experience shopping dealers for resolution has been recommended and I think that's what I'd be doing.

PQ, your spoiler was loose at some point, right?

Updated Information -

"hi james we have not heard back from gm rep yet as to when they will be
here. gm is repositioning the area reps. i will look into this today and try
to get back in touch with you thanks"

This is before Sept.

Went to another dealer, and was told to work through the original one, because it's the same GM rep.

Good thing my car isn't broke :(

Edit - Honestly, I wonder if they're just going to try and delay it until my 3 year Warranty is up.

wow, i disagree. i think in this case the OPs dealer is just a bunch of jerkoffs. I got mine fixed (same issue) right away, and fixed right. repainted, not touched up.

Just so I can keep everyone in the loop on this -

GM Customer Service contacted me today and stated that a GM District Specialist will be in contact with me, within 24 hours. From there, I don't know where we will go, but it's the first real movement in weeks.
