Your idea of accurate and other members ideas of accurate can EASILY vary...since I just read numerous posts of how members love their new shifters and have had no problems. They like it. You don't.

We get the fact that you don't like the shifter. Repeating yourself over and over in this thread is unnecessary. We get the point. Thanks for your input.
Just responding to questions I'm asked. Didn't know that was a sin. But it's your party boat. I'll be a good little sailor.

Far from smooth,Shifts are rough and hard. I'm going to try it once at the track, unfortunately That won't be until next year. But if I get aggravated before then you will see a discounted hurst shifter for sale.
Complaint #2.

Its far from rough and hard, yes it is much more positive feel than stock which i like and knew I was gonna have before it was installed. Two people have drove mine and two others set in it and shifted and nobody complained all of them loved the feel. Most short throw shifters offer a stiffer shift and thats what most people are looking for.
I'm not the only one who saw this.

Complaint #4. This is where I took note of the "complaint trend." And so far, of all the posts I've read, you are the only one to express these feelings.

Exactly. We got it the first 4 times.

First question asked of you.

I'm a maintenance Mechanic by trade. Re built the 67 mustang from ground up. I'm pretty sure I did it right. In fact I even pulled it down this past friday and redid it to see if I missed something. Heck I was hoping I did. But it was installed correctly.
My point being is if I had any idea what I was going to get I'd have passed. It's like the guy here who told me I'm wording my posts too negatively. I'm just being honest. So now if someone reads these posts before he buys he'll have an accurate description of what to expect. I just got caught up in all the excitement of the release. I learned, won't happen again.
Complaint #6. And if someone reads these posts, they will see that of all the people who replied, you are the only person with a complaint...and 6 of them to be exact....all of the same thing.

You were asked one question that I can see and one other person even said your response might have been harsh. Voicing your opinion over a part isn't a sin at all. Shoot, we encourage opinions...positive and negative. Voicing it over and over again (as you can see by the above posts) gets to be annoying for readers. I'd rather read constructive input from all members vs. 6 complaints from the same person. I'd bet others feel this way too.

Not trying to be mean. Just saying, lets move on. And I thank you for understanding!

I've had it installed for about 3 weeks now and it really does feel better to me than the stock shifter. Under normal driving and speeds the shifter isn't as cluncky as the stock shifter and it definately feels smoother going from gear to gear. I feel it's easier to get into 3rd from 2nd than before. The one thing I don't like is coming down from 5th to 4th as it tends to want to go to back to 6th.

Having gotten on it a few times I can agree it's a harder shift under load than I thought it would be. But i'm thinking it might have more to do with the trans than the shifter. My 74 Camaro had an M22 w/Hurst comp plus shifter and that was an easier shift under heavy load for sure.

I respect your opinion and hope you can find a shifter that works better for you and I'd like to hear from you if find something better. I do think that this transmission is part of problem as I have have driven quite a few manuals and it is a stiffer shifting box than the ones I've driven in the past.

Hey Tom, give the Hurst a little more time to grow on you. I got used to it in one day, but maybe you need a little more time with it. I like that I can rest my arm on the console and shift without lifting it up. Did you try putting the stock knob on the Hurst? Maybe that will help a little. Ignore these guys.

If u can honestly leave your arm on the console and go through all the gears than there's something seriously wrong with my tranny.

It sounds like you may have gotten a defective unit, why not call the manufacturer and ask if you can return it for another, its worth a shot.

Tom, PM me if you would like to get together and compare Hurst's to see if it may be something wrong in your unit or tranny. I will be putting my car away soon.
