I haven't painted mine yet. I've bought the paint three times for the project. First batch got used up when I damaged the underside of my nosepiece in Tahoe, and had to fix it.
Second batch got used up on my CAI build project, and a classic Schwinn bicycle I built to match my car.
Third batch is waiting for warmer weather, and THIS time it will go on my engine cover!
I sure have bought a lot of Synergy Green paint! And my engine cover is still bare.

Take the oil cap off and pull up on the front of the cover. There might be videos on YouTube

And just a little piece of friendly advice: When you do take the cover off; remember to put the oil cap right back on. That way 1) You don't lose it. 2) You don't forget that it's there and close the hood on it. *ouch!* 3) Dirt and contaminants don't find their way into the engine through the open filler.

Where'd you get the Carbon Flash Metallic paint?? Everywhere I can find it it's ridiculously expensive!

What paints do you use for a V6 engine cover? Is there a thread that kind of gives the steps to doing the DIY for a V6 and if not can I get a quick overview on exactly how it goes?

This is what I did which is really easy
1- take the oil cap off
2- pull the engine cover
3- clean it with water and soap
4- dry it
5- start masking using painter tape and exacto knife
6- apply 3 coats of adhesion promoter "$8 on Amazon"
7- apply 3 coats of Autonotive paint for GM products " I got it from Auto zone $10"
8- apply 3 coats of clear coat "$8"
9 - remove the tape

LED dome, DRL, and tag lights. Paint- Painted engine cover, steering wheel bezel, speedometer bezel, front bowtie, tail light bezels, wheel center caps. Exterior lights- tinted tail lights and sidemarker lights. Wheels- powdercoated stock RS 20' wheels black Exhaust- Cat-back Dynomax Bullet Exhaust system with bullet muffler delete. Misc- rear blackout kit from Big Worm Graphix, black side Camaro lettering from Emblem Pros, and rear Camaro lettering from Emblem Pros.
