I guess the real question is do you prefer Walmart or Target lawn chairs to take to work with you?

Pirelli scorpion snow and ice tires! Also recommend grabbing a cheap set of SS replica wheels and leaving them mounted for easy swapping with season changes. Trust me, my Camaro is the best car I have even driven in the very unpredictable/harsh Ohio winters. Just have to keep your foot out of it (obviously).

Keep your car!!!!!

This is the argument on the base Civic vs the Prius - yes, the Prius gets 12mpg more than a base Civic, but it costs $5,000 more. You'll never make up the gap in fuel cost. Plus you get the added costs of maintaining a more complicated car.

The end-all-be-all isn't just fuel - a Camaro costs more to maintain. Insurance is more, tires are a lot more, it takes 8 quarts of oil versus the 4 or 5 a Honda anything probably takes...however, it makes no sense to spend $5,000 more on a BRAND NEW HONDA under the guise of "saving money."

To save money, you get a used, inexpensive car. You don't spend $35,000 after taxes and fees on a brand new sedan. If you were trying to save money, you'd be trading in your Camaro for $25,000 for a $15,000 Civic and banking ten grand plus fuel, insurance and maintenance savings. Autotrader is full of lightly used, one year old Civics and Corolla's for around $15K with certified warranties that drag out coverage 7 years. This just makes no sense.

Like I repeatedly said, it's not about saving money and getting a more fuel efficient car. Yes I stated what the Accord got MPG wise but was not intending that as the sole reason for switching to it. Just don't want to rack up the miles on the Camaro nor have it sit in the garage. I've stated, is it practical to drive a Camaro as a daily driver for over 100 miles a day and many have provided useful feedback saying yes and get snow tires. I'm still a little concerned driving on ice and snow though but will have to see. Yes I can buy a beater however that gives me 4 cars in the driveway and a small enclosed 5x8 trailer that I normally put in the garage. Now if I find a house with a 3 car garage and a larger driveway then I may go that route. We are looking at houses next weekend.

Trading in for a new Accord would also be a plus for a family car because we put A LOT of miles on our Pathfinder. Also new to me would be better because I know I'm the one putting the miles on which would be well over 25k/year versus buying used and who knows what's wrong. Like I said money for a new car isn't an issue but I also don't want to lose too much in the trade.

Trust me I would love to keep the Camaro and get something cheap that is more practical for a daily driver. It's really up to what house we buy.

I really do appreciate all the feedback and right now leaning towards keeping the Camaro. Good thing is I have several months anyways so no rush to buy or trade right now!

So if you hate it, don't do it. Get that cheap car to drive for work, like I did, and keep the Camaro for fun. But I'm thinking your wife is somewhat behind the "sell the Camaro" issue. If it's your decision, then you can rest easy knowing it was what you wanted. If your being "forced" to sell, then you will live to regret it down the road.

dude an accord petrol wont be great at mpg..your wasting your time tbh..my last 1.6l petrol car was only 8mpg better than my camaro..soon as you stop and start the mpg suffers..diesel is THE only car to buy if mpg is your goal..and that must be an eco diesel...my brand new company diesel ord transit connect van only manages 36mpg

Actually surprising she is not and I caught her off guard by going to Honda. She's pretty cool and honestly doesn't care what I do. However she doesn't want me to get another bike. I sold that for the car to begin with. Plus I'll be working odd hours at times and not sure I would want to commute via bike anyways especially with the wildlife in MO.

Unhappy

Buying and accord (any honda) is like buying a toaster or a microwave oven.
