We had an odd cold front come through this morning so I thought I'd take the opportunity to check out the heated seats before going to the dealer. Using the remote start I let it run about 5 minutes and when I got in the car the seats were warm. The outside temp on the car registered 44 degrees. So I guess the only problem I have its not cold enough in my garage for them to work.

It was 32 degrees today and I used the remote start in my car. I turned it on when I came out of the grocery, and by the time I put the groceries in my trunk and put the cart away my seats were warm. The light for the heated seats does NOT come on when using remote start, but they do come on if you have the setting enabled in the menu.

That's what I thought before it started getting cold out in the mornings...but the seats warm up faster than the air from the vents, so they are a great way to get warm quickly!

UPDATE....Just got back from dealer and heated seats only heat seat 20 degrees over outside temps per/chev tech advisors through GM. Dealer didn't know either so made call to GM techs

So i take it when seats are turned on as well as hot air just not enough to make a difference on your rear/behind/down low....atleast now i know...

Also was told a way to tell was to turn them on through auto start let it run and then when inside car feel your back seats then compare them to your front seats and there will be a difference....Good Luck.

It was around 20 degrees here the other day. I did remote start and let it run for about 15 min. My seat was a little warm. I think they need to add the option of what temp you want the heated seat to come on to be. That way it can be set to come on around 40degrees instead of almost single digit temps! However my car was not warm on the inside since I didnt have the heat on. I cant believe they didnt install climate control in these cars. Is this the only 2010 car without a climate control?

40 degrees? 40 ain't cold. They're predicting -37 C (which is -35 F) for Sunday where I live. Now that's cold!

For your car and where you live, that's understandable.
For my car and where I live, heated seats aren't an option... they're mandatory. Especially if you're sitting on leather.

I have heated seats in my Highlander and on really cold mornings they are fab! I am not sure I'll get much use out of them with the Camaro because I don't plan on driving it when the weather is bad.

If I remote start the car, the seats heat up (at least driver's) but again, it's DEFINITELY the low setting and the button/light does NOT illuminate. When you insert the key and turn the car on, shutting off the remote start system, the seats turn off and you have to turn them on again manually if you want them on. Simple as that. Set the setting in your vehicle radio thing and they turn on.
This is exactly how mine appear to be working. I set the configuration to turn on the seat warmers with Remote Start. Then I tried it with the outside air temps in the low 40s. I got into my car after remotely starting it and letting it run for about 3 minutes. Before putting the key into the ignition, I felt my seat and the passenger front seat with my hand. The seats felt a little warm, but definitely not as warm as they get in the same amount of time when I turn them on manually by pushing the seat heater button twice (only one blue light showing). Even so, I could tell the seat warmers were working because I then put my hands on the back passenger seat and it was ice cold!

So it seems to work--it's just not a dramatic change in the warmth of the seat. Feels like just enough to "take the edge off." I really hope it is not dependent on the outside air temperatures, as I would like to be the one who decides if I'm cold or not! But hey--they work great manually, so I see the remote start seat warmer option as a nice-to-have that works as advertised, but maybe not exactly how I would have set it up myself.

UPDATE: 2 Jan 10 -- I've had a few more opportunities to try this out and here's what I've learned...the remote start seat heating does work. You do not need to have turned on the heated seats the last time you shut down the engine. It does take awhile for the seats to heat up appreciably. I let the car run for about 8 minutes the last few times and had nice, toasty seats waiting for me when I got in to drive away. The seat heaters turn off after you insert the key and turn it to where everything is turned on, so if you want the heat to continue while you are driving, you must turn the seat heater back on manually (not sure why it doesn't stay on, but it doesn't).

Hope this helps...
