Camaro is my first American sports car. I grew up on GTIs, then 350/370Zs, etc. My best friend has had 6 Mustangs in a row, but I was never into the retro look, and gave him crap all the time.
First time I sat in the gen 6 Camaro, I was shocked to be honest. Never considered one, I was actually going to buy one of the last Genesis Coupes... While I still have a slight buyer's remorse about not getting an SS, I truly love the Camaro. Taking my friend for a ride, I opened his mind up too. He's on the brink of buying his first Camaro, just looking for leftover 2016 SS... Having said all that, I spent $100 already on stupid nets, cubbies, etc. trying to figure out storage. I have a iPhone 6S Plus, and sunglasses, and like passengers once in a while. They get tired holding my stuff...

Hello,
To me, it wasn't a question of whether or not the Ford is worth it's price and has valuable attributes, or the Mopars either for that matter. I am sure to their owners, they are lovely things to behold and enjoy. I drove the cars that I admired a few times and even rented those on the short list so I could spend some additional time traveling about with them. Then I rented a 5th gen rag top (in black on black) but it was not one that I was considering. Due to a mix up at the counter and mostly because it was available for a low cost upgrade, I gave it a try; that day was a game changer. I put 350 miles on that car just riding it around town. I skipped out on work the next day and even kept it for a couple of extra days after that just to see if it would get old (it didn't). From there, the hunt was on for what I thought would be my vision of a keeper. It turned out to be the 50th SS with a proper 6 speed on the floor; a drop top of course. Kindest, Donner |

![]() Am however jealous you have the hyper blue ss...was my first choice but the dealer heavily discounted a nightfall grey and wouldn't the blue. Never understood dealer logic. A few people mentioned lack of camaro storage...think of the backseat as padded shelving. I can fit 3 back there comfortably - we're talking pugs - with some engineered lifting and snack bribes, people...eh, not so much. |

My buddy showed up in his new Ecoboost Mustang.
Simple fact is there are great things about both cars. Yes I like mine more, but the Mustang is a quality vehicle that is also a lot of fun. The competition makes both cars better. Mustang owners should be glad that the Camaro is an excellent competitor - it only will make the Stang better and likewise for the Camaro from its competitor. We all win. Lets all be grateful for the competition during this, the golden age of non-autonomous and gas powered vehicles.

they are both great cars.i owned two 67 mustangs and tried a 2016 mustang before finding my 2015 RS.the fact that you cant get a 6 cylinder mustang with leather interior came into play in my descision.why would you need to spend $10,000 more for the 8 cylinder to get the better interior? sure ,i cheated and bought a certified used camaro thats a year older but i got pretty much every option known to man for less than the base mustang would have cost, and i preferred the camro stylewise too.

I'll add to this thread as well. I have driven two EcoBoost Mustangs. One was a coupe and the other a convertible. Both automatic transmissions. The fuel economy isn't horrible on the 2.3L engine but, its not great either even when you drive it for economy.
The visibility is better in both cars to me compared to a Camaro but, the Mustang has a lot more road noise. The other issue is that Ford still hasn't apparently figured out how to fix the hood corrosion issue which still seems apparent on mustang6g.com and the other issue is a driveline vibration via the Lincoln Mark VIII days due to the two piece driveshaft. |

Haven't driven a mustang, but we have a 2012 Flex that I love driving and a 2016 Explorer Interceptor that I absolutely HATE. Horrible ergonomics and has been a piece of shit quality wise. I wish the PD would have gotten me a Tahoe.
