Consider this. In a way it is similar to what you describe happening to you.

When I was 17 years old, driving my '68 SS, a deputy got behind me on a rural road. He followed me about 5 miles and pulled me over when I entered the city limits. He gave me a ticket for violating basic rule when the speed dropped from 55 to 35.
I took mine to court and was allowed to defend myself and put the cop on the stand. I acted as my own attorney. When I put him on the stand, I questioned as to how far he had been behind me and whether I had been speeding during that time and he said no. Then ask if he had followed me to see if (based on my age and appearance of my car) would do something wrong. He said no. Then I ask if it made sense to him that I would speed at the city limits after knowing he was following me for the last 5 miles. He had to say no.

Now I had a passenger with me and I also put him on the stand and he sided with me of course, so that helped a lot. The judge dismissed the ticket and complimented me on my courtroom presence.

I would find it hard to believe that in any state, once you plead not guilty, that you can be denied a copy of any evidence against you. This is called "discovery", you have a right to it, as in any violation of the law, and if the evidence is denied to you, you would have cause to file contempt of court against them. They wont deny your right to the evidence.

I had that happen in my tricked out nissan a few years ago.... I fought it and won. The cop gave me a ticket for speeding, no front plate and having a rear license plate frame!

I havent had any issues with my orange camaro, in fact I get thumbs up from the local cops, but I'm very careful too.

When you get pulled over: after you stop roll down all your windows, turn the car off and take the keys and reach out the window and put them on the roof of the car. This lets the officer know youre not going anywhere. Then put your hands on 10 and 2 oclock on the steering wheel. Then greet him with "Good afternoon/morning officer". No "What did you pull me over for?". No "Whats the problem?" The more at ease he is, and the more corteous you are the better your chances.
It is pretty dam tough when you where pulled over the day before for apparently the samething. ( WAS VERY POLITE BOTH TIMES )

A little overkill i think. Not to judge you but with regard to the situation, IMO If a cop gets upset because you asked about his/her pc, then he/she has a power trip or is having a bad day. I think if you ask nicely all the officer has to do is respond nicely, show your info and go from there. this whole thinking of "my way or the highway" is not acceptable IMO. Innocent until proven guilty.

Congrats you now know how it feels to be targeted because your a black man in a white city driving an expensive car. Happens to me all the time, I get pulled over just to see if the car is actually mine, no other question besides license and reg. Once I provide the information and it checks out they have come back handed me my papers and said have a nice day and nothing else. Not why I was pulled over or anything. Has happened in my Camaro, my GTO(extremely modded now just a drag car), my former porsche 911, it sucks bad and I feel your pain. Fight it.

I was pulled over several years ago and issued a ticket for 38 in a 25. I had not seen any prior speed limit signs and knew the speed limit in town was 35 so I was speeding but just barely. I went to court and represented myself. The officer was present and took the stand and I asked him about the situation and since it wasn't posted on that street that the town's default speed limit should apply and I then asked if he typically wrote tickets for 3 mph over the speed limit and he said no. I also asked if he'd calibrated his radar gun that day and and he said he had. Even though I was speeding the Judge said she felt that I represented myself very well and that it takes a certain amount of courage to come represent yourself in court. And she dismissed the ticket.

As I was leaving the court house the officer stopped me, and at this point I thought I was in for it. But he was courteous and said that I did the right thing. If I thought I was innocent of the ticket coming to court was the right thing to do.

I've never forgotten that and I believe that is an example of our legal system at its best. Now I can't promise you you'll get the same out come I did, but the point is you need to try. Just be courteous, respectful and come prepared.

First, thanks for doing the job that you do. It seems like an incredibly unappreciated job "generally" but not in my family... But I have to say, I would think as a police officer that has to pull people over every day that they would be more considerate of the occasional driver that really is genuine and just totally confused as to why he/she was pulled over... It makes me ill thinking/reading that I have to kiss-up just to get what I would hope would be everyday courtesy... I respect officers for dealing with the crap that they have to deal with soooooo much. I have lots of military and LE experience/friends/family and I know what they have to deal with and I let them know that I appreciate it every time I see them... I also see/hear that what they have to deal with all day so I can see why they are expecting rude responses. I would just hope that they can see past that once in a while...

Just out of curiousity do you sit with the seat back ,wear a bandanna, or have other people in your car?

I would think cops would target a specific type of person not necessarily the color.

That and 75 cents will by you a cup of coffee.

And where in the United States is there a white city? I haven't been to one yet evidently.

Request for the radar readout????????
I can see the calibration since that is only required once(when it is built and before it goes into service) But how do you expect to see a radar readout?

Then in Virgina State Trooper Anus pulled me over in Stafford County on 95 and flat out lied about catching me speeding. He told me he "heard" my car and sped up to see who it was and wrote me a ticket for 115 in a 65. From the time I entered the highway until the time I was pulled over was 3/10ths of a mile. I gave it the hammer to get on the highway and moved to the left lane and slowed to about 80. Then he came flying up behind me and pulled me over.

Then that lying pole smoker said in court that he saw me the whole time and actually paced me at 115. I told the judge that he told me he sped up to see whos car was loud and that I was pulled over in 3/10s of a mile ect ect. Judge didnt care and I got a 6 month suspension and $1800 in fines. F you judge and F you trooper Anus you lying dbag. Thanks for ruining the image of law enforcemet. I hope your lying ass gets hit by a car.

LOL Im sorry his name is Aniss, J. Biggest Dbag Ive ever met. Id bet he got beat on for having the last name Aniss and thats why he became a cop. He just like the dorks that join the Marines because they are trying to prove something.

You know....Your post says it all.....you are an IDIOT. You show that you were an idiot and couldn't make it as a Marine....so now Marines are dorks. You wanted to be a cop but probably couldn't pass any test so now cops are Idiots. Grow up and try to become something beneficial to society. But then again, people who do that are probably dorks too.
