Hey no smacking, somebody before me said drift, I meant power slide.
And that didn't sound like no 6.2, don't forget the ~300hp V6 is no slouch and has a sound similar to that in the video.

It sounds like this documentary will address a lot of the design decisions we've been discussing here. "fight over the roof height" I wonder if they will discuss the bumper, B pillar, gas cap, lights etc. I'm definitely gonna watch this...

How cool, I mean the whole time we've be speculation on whats happening with the car, these guys have been documenting it... That's way cool. And I'm stoked about them using Jr. to refine the car. NASCAR or not, he loves American muscle and with his experience I'm sure the car will be better for his input. He's an enthusiast and will expect the car to satisfy that group as well as the general consumer.

Thanks Meghan Reeder!

I hope that piece isn't the only documentary. I'm thinking it would be cool to have something on Discovery or something too. I'm hoping to collect all these videos and keep them with my Camaro. I'm excited to see all the press when this baby comes out!

Cool discovery.

My 2 1/2 year old trying to watch the video with headphones while she was watching sesame street and she demanded one of the headphones. I discovered that one side was all all talk and the other was mostly car sounds (especially exhaust).

Raw video footage through right channel, left channel is the annoying announcer guy.

I just listened to it through right headphone only. That beast sounds like a Z06 a few times during the movie (must have been the V8.

This is where GM needs to be carefull in the marketing of the Camaro. It's allright to have Jr. give you all the "she handles like a Chevelle" retro talk (and to be honest, by today's standards a 454 Chevelle SS handles like crap - 15" bias ply tires, solid rear axle, improper weight balance, horrid braking) to those who want to hear it, but to sell the Camaro en mass GM can't live in the past. Cars like the Nissan Altima 3.5 SE coupe, BMW 1-Series, Honda Accord EX V6 coupe, and even (dare I say it here) the Toyota Camry Solara SE V6 coupe are already the heavy hitter players in the personal/performance coupe market. All but the Solara are available with 6 speed sticks. They bring modern, sophisticated, Japanese and European flavor, and are well reguarded by the general public. They are all exactly spot on in the price range the Camaro LS and LT will be competing in.

People who look at those cars still reguard the Camaro, right or wrong, with the same prejudicies as someone with a mullett, wears slim and thin neck ties, and has a stack of Poison and Bon Jovi cassettes next to his boombox.

If GM is going to succeed with the Camaro, the V6 must change the way people look at the car and must be as good if not better in overall driving dynamics than those cars. BMW is a stretch, but the 1-series is right in the mix pricewise.

GM must be carefull here.

I really wish they would have picked someone else to do this interview.

I can already see the huge ass nascar numbers showing up on the rear windows of Camaro's around the country.

I wish they would have gotten some better info after suspension tuning, and from someone who doesnt make left turns for a living.

overall, ecstatic! a little body-roll disappoints me, but i agree, this does look like an early test mule. fastball, i agree w/ what u have 2 say. i do think power is 2 be looked at first 4 purposes of heritage, but handling is quite essential. i'm sure gm will not overlook this as they were so punctilious concerning it's weight balance. i sure hope so anyway. this is a major factor of persuasion for myself in regards 2 the camaro vs. gto. but i have faith in gm, what a great bunch of people w/ a great heart 4 the cars that americans hold so dear. and thanx Reeder!

Looks like I have something to watch on August 6. I might have to tape it, then memorize it.

Oh, to all those that are complaining about Jr and question the value of his opinions, he also races Corvettes when he gets the chance at events like the Rolex 24hrs of Daytona. Plus, how many other Camaro enthusiasts are also professional racers?
